A homeowner in Georgia shot and killed three young masked men at his home early Monday morning, according to Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett.
Authorities identified the three deceased individuals as juveniles Monday evening -- two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old -- but have not released their names. The sheriff’s office told ABC News it waited to release information about the teens, all from Conyers, Georgia, until all three families were notified.
The homeowner, who has also not been identified by deputies, was taken to the station for questioning.

One of the attempted robbery suspects purportedly brandished a handgun and fired shots at the residents before one returned fire. All three attempted robbery suspects were killed during the exchange, authorities said.”
That’s a full-on 7-Eleven gunfight, for sure. Just in someone’s yard. All things being equal — and until evidence contradicts the events as described — I’d say kudos to the “resident” who used his weapon defensively and who also most likely saved others’ lives. Looks like three less gangstas will be around to terrorize law-abiding citizens, as well.

I did look for original story. The problem is now they edit as they go. I remember the neighbor was quoted as saying it was a home invasion gone wrong.

As usual, which leads to an interesting true story:
Decades ago, California was a "Must Retreat" State when a California State Assemblyman had his home invaded one night, and he plugged the perp who made it out to the front yard.
A very brave Sheriff's Deputy Sargent (Senior Officer on the scene) released his report of events and that there was a possible violation of "Must Retreat".
The Legislature insiders were screwed, they couldn't get their buddy off, what to do?
They solved the problem by slow walking the prosecution while writing and passing the California "Make My Day" Stand your ground Home Invasion Law. Once enacted, the Assemblyman's failure to retreat crime was moot before his case went to trial.
Note that the California Stand Your Ground Law applies once the Invader crosses the threshold and afterward, but not before, the exact series of events that made legal, would free the Assemblyman.

In Georgia we have stand your ground and castle doctrine. Trust me the shooter is covered.
On the contrary, it was a home invasion gone right.

Even if you are backed into a closet and the guy is threatening you, you are in big trouble if you shoot him.
Just another reason to leave NY, as many are doing in droves.
Dopey reporters with an agenda know absolutely NOTHING about “Stand your ground” laws. Many states used to follow the common law standard vis-a-vis self defense. That is, if you are INSIDE your home, you have NO duty to retreat if confronted with a potential confrontation, i.e., you could stand your ground in your home, b/c your home was considered your castle. However, OUTSIDE of your home, you had a duty to retreat and make an effort to avoid the confrontation. What stand your ground laws did was ELIMINATE the common law requirement that you retreat outside of your home. This case doesn’t appear to be a “stand your ground” case. The homeowner was being robbed/shot at. He had every right to fire back.
I think that is why little effort is put into journalism by most now. No need to; if people complain because you wrote badly or missed the facts just take 5 minutes and change it.

Truly is very 1984.
Now the California trickery relies on the corruption of the Police and "Gun Safety" Laws that require guns in a private home to be stored in effectively unusable condition at all times, ostensibly to protect children and prevent theft.
Police try to get homeowners to say things that indicate the firearm was not unloaded and/or in a locked storage not accessible by children. Any such information will be used to imprison, pauperize and destroy the homeowner.
Any Police who violate the same Laws get off with no punishment at all, even though there are actually dead children in those instances, as they have been "punished enough".
I feared for my life, and I want my lawyer. Full stop. Period.
old california advice if you shoot someone breaking in, like a window, make sure they land inside the house one way or another..
I live four miles from this area. I wouldn’t go there after dark. There are lots of areas in Conyers I don’t go to after dark. My wife drove by the subdivision on her way to exercise class at 8:30 AM and she saw the news crews at the entrance.

ROCKDALE COUNTY – UPDATE – The deceased individuals from the early morning shooting on White Oak Court in
Conyers, Georgia have been identified as juveniles aged 15, 16, and 16, all from Conyers, Georgia.
The three were killed during an exchange of gunfire with a resident on White Oak Court. To this point, the investigation
has revealed that the three now deceased individuals had their faces covered as they approached the residence and
attempted to rob three individuals in the front yard. One of the attempted robbery suspects brandished a handgun and fired
shots at the residents before one of the intended robbery victims returned fire.
The victims of the attempted robbery were all uninjured, but the three attempted robbery suspects were all shot during the
exchange of gunfire and succumbed to their injuries, one on scene and two at a local hospital after being transported.
Investigators have been actively interviewing the three individuals from the residence and other neighbors with information throughout the day. No charges have been filed against anyone at this time.
The investigation is still very active and the RCSO is asking for anyone with information in connection with this incident
to contact the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office at 770-278-8000 and speak with Investigator Dwayne Smith or Sergeant
Jeremy Best. More details may be released as they become available during the investigation.

A lot of questions come to mind after this incident. What were the three “victims” doing outside at 4:00 AM? What were the deceased perps doing out at 4:00AM? There is a curfew in Rockdale county for all people under the age of 18. Sounds like wanna-be gang members.
