Out of the top ten rivers that produce the most pollution, eight are in Asia and two are in Africa. The Yangtze River in China and the Ganges River in India were responsible for the most plastic pollution.

And guess who is exempt from the anti-polution laws the Liberals want to force on the US and Europe? You guessed it! India, China and Africa.

That's why this whole thing is a scam.

“That little girl should sail her boat there.”
Yes, then they can fly the boat back home.

It’s still the fault of those evil privileged white people.

Anyone ever notice that there’s never been a photograph of the famed Plastic Island?

Anyone ever noticed that there’s never been any actual data about the amount of straws that are just tossed on the ground? A nine year old kid’s science fair project started that whole kerfuffle.

This was actually first reported back in 2017. The mainstream media and the liberals bury these stories because they aren’t politically correct.

You are not allowed to blame people in 3rd world countries for ANY of the world’s problems.

China pumps out more greenhouse gases than the US. But you hear NOTHING from the climate alarmists about how to curb China’s output.

I wonder where the US falls on that list. I’d bet that we’re under 2%.

The US has made great strides since the ‘60s-’70s when we did have a litter problem; we’ve come a long way, no question. Even with actual garbage dumping in the ocean, we’re waaaay behind the various s#ithole countries.

This just confirms earlier studies.

Europe, North America, Australia and South America account for 5-10% of oceanic plastic TOTAL.

What percent of this already small total does the US account for? I’ve been to São Paulo. I’ve seen how filthy that river is. I’m willing to bet there are at least a few more in Latin/South America that account for a large share of the 5-10% that is not Asia or Africa.

Now ask yourself what percent of a country’s total plastic straws are.

Yes. This is how stupid, useless and authoritarian it is to ban plastic straws in a country that can’t possibly produce more than a tiny fraction of all oceanic plastic anyway.

Big vote getter with the youth around the world.

Would love to see the MSM try to spin into a bad thing.

Of course it does. Those are low-trust societies, where life is viewed as a zero-sum game. Taking care of the environment is for losers.

The rivers which put 90 percent of all the plastic pollution into the world’s oceans: all are in the non-White world.

Hainan, China

Mekong river, Vietnam

Ganges river, India

Manila Philippines

Bekasi Indonesia

So?

Just like George Carlin said:

"The planet … is a self-correcting system. The air and the water will recover, the earth will be renewed. And if it’s true that plastic is not degradable, well, the planet will simply incorporate plastic into a new paradigm: the earth plus plastic. The earth doesn’t share our prejudice toward plastic. Plastic came out of the earth. The earth probably sees plastic as just another one of its children. Could be the only reason the earth allowed us to be spawned from it in the first place. It wanted plastic for itself. Didn’t know how to make it. Needed us. Could be the answer to our age-old egocentric philosophical question, 'Why are we here?'”

"Plastic, A-Hole!"
