the article has a little more explanation—They did not like the deal—I am thinking because it did not go far enough, not fact that they wanted to keep Obamacare...
Biggs later says they defend Trump, and I think they do majority of the time.

With regard to Ocare, my impression is the Freedom Caucus didn’t like the alternative. IIRC, there was bill that passed the House, but rejected by the Senate (thanks to McCain), but I don’t remember the details of the bill that failed.

But the result was that Obamacare was not repealed and it was their fault.
That’s the way ‘we’ see it but as we’ve seen since 2015, they don’t give a damn if a dem is elected as long as their little worlds are not rocked. The hell with ‘us’; we’re there to serve them.
Mostly they back Trump.

There was some talk against them when they backed Paul Ryan for speaker after he gave his “if I accept, you must never try to remove me” ultimatum that should have been the easiest “okay, you’re out of contention” ever.
