The State Department’s inspector general is expected to give an "urgent" briefing to staffers from several House and Senate committees on Wednesday afternoon about documents obtained from the department’s Office of the Legal Adviser related to the State Department and Ukraine, sources familiar with the planned briefing told ABC News.

Details of the briefing, requested by Steve Linick, the inspector general at State, remain unknown. Linick is expected to meet with congressional staff in a secure location on Capitol Hill.

Why do we need so many inspectors general? There is Horowitz, and that should be enough.

This one is Obama’s appointed IG for the State Department. Horowitz is the IG for DOJ.

What’s up with the hush hush, secured, secret location and meeting with staffers? Sounds like a deep state plant. Oh well, tomorrow comes soon enough. You just know if it hurts President Trump, it will be leaked by noon. Or the lies start at noon.

sos pompeo seems to be attracting a lot of flak lately.

maybe this could be a warning given to congress not to interfere with an ongoing criminal investigation.

maybe the entire impeachment effort is little more than simply a preemptive strike against a criminal investigation by the sos ig and/or others, intended more to thwart a real investigation than to provide one...

kabuki inside kabuki...

Each agency has at least, Horowitz is DOJ and this one is IG for Department of State.

Don’t know if you remember but a few years ago, there was an IG report from the GSA (General Services Agency) showing a guy sitting in a hot tub, “toasting” himself, sporting a martini glass, at a GSA“conference” in Las Vegas!

Thanks to some kind soul for snapping that jerk or the public would never be the wiser at the kind of “conferences” so necessary to the GSA in Las Vegas in January!

I think the IG usage may forestall having to go through another Special Prosecutor appointment? Possibly we would need a couple of dozen SPs to cover the corrupt perps. Trump probably doesn’t need the distraction and has other goose chases scheduled for the ravenous media to race after. Hee!

He’s only DOJ. Every department has its own IG.

My hope is it reveals the leaker broke the law and the Dems had better back off an shut up.

No, Horowitz is not enough. A good, honest IG, especially at State, can scare the s... out of employees and keep them honest. Just FYI:

Since all it takes these days is hearsay, lies, and innuendo then every journalist can be a whistleblower.

Linick is an Obama holdover and committed leftist.

But, then, I repeat myself.

An urgent briefing for staffers about Ukraine docs is just plain weird. How could anything the State IG has be urgent for staffers?

I suspect it’s just more filth oozing through the cracks...sensational, but untrue. Or so severely mischaracterized as to be essentially untrue.

Each agency has one, at least. Given the amount of corruption that has been uncovered over the last 3 years, I’m thinking there should be double the amount we have now. However, that only goes as far as they are impartial to what is going on and don’t let things slide based on their political leanings.

But, given the fact that a lot of them still seem to be Soetero appointees, I don’t trust their work, especially Horowitz. When McCabe and the others were caught lying his terminology was they were “less then candid”. If you and I had been questioned in the same way and were found to be “less than candid”, they would say we were, LYING. And then we’d not only be guilty of lying to a federal investigator, we could also catch a Perjury charge if we had testified before Congress and gave different information.

So, for now, Horowitz isn’t any better than the rest of them. I’m thinking their lies, corruption and malice is so deep, he may not have a choice but to out them all. When any investigation is done, all the investigator is doing is compiling statements, gathering and entering evidence, cataloguing it and making in chronological, and then passing it off to the DAs office or DOJ, who then presents everything to the people so they can decide. Neither the investigator or US Attorney decides your guilt, unless your Comey and you make the unilateral decision to give clinton a pass and destroy evidence.
