Which means they will have at least one less hour of daylight after school.

You know, why not just close all the schools? The students aren't interested in being there. They don't learn anything anyway.

In reality, California schools are a police action designed to keep punks, drug dealers, and thieves off the street for a few hours per day. Not to mention to provide a handsome montetary gift to the so-called NEA "teachers" voting block.

Actually, this is a good idea. I don’t like everything being mandated by the government. Nevertheless, middle schoolers don’t learn well in the early morning and need their sleep. Starting later is a good plan.

Maybe they will come up with a breath tax, since we exhale CO2. Only a rat 🐀 bastard like him, could come up with something like that.

It was no big deal for our swim team to practice at 6 AM when we were in high school. Woke up before any other students did, drive to school and practice for an hour then shower/dress and we were already good for class to start.

Incidentally, our swim team had the highest grades in the school. And for two years running our school had the highest SAT scores in the state. We won state championship too.

I watched my grandkids do the early school hours....Lunch was at 10:30 AM. Ridiculous. Now some schools have figured out providing "baby sitting" before and after school to accommodate working parents. It works.

I'm up super early...but I'm not functioning at a decent capacity. In a couple hours, I'll be up to par.

Well, it’s either night school now...or night school later to get their GED. What difference does it make?

This commie is a busy little man. All of them are. The left is moving fast to change this country for the worse. Whether Trump wins or loses these people are going to have to be beat and eliminated. In the streets and the field. It will come to that. Our liberties are in jeopardy.

Well that’s it. That’s her platform to run for office so now it’s just a matter of time.

Why is this even in the domain of legislation?

It effectively eliminates any extracurricular activities, except maybe for Midnight Basketball.

Who knew Jackson Public Schools we’re ahead of the curve back in the day?!?!!! I think out junior high started at 8:15am and high school at 8:45. My children have had varying start times in the places we’ve lived. They have had to be at the bus stop by 5:45am or as late as 7am. Thankfully, the 5:45am riders were happy to go to school, or that would have been a struggle. One of my teens in those years started going hunting with friends before school. They would be gone by 4am. That son became a Marine. :-)

The science shows that people who go to sleep at a reasonable time and get up early are brighter and more successful.

The high schoolers in my neighborhood get their bus at 6:15AM. They are in homeroom by 7:15.
