While speaking to reporters on Monday, Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) stated that acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney admitted that the Trump administration held up funding to Ukraine partially due to a desire to have Ukraine carry out an investigation regarding the 2016 election and holding up funds "to fulfill a political purpose is a real problem."

1. How is an investigation by a U.S. president into an election he WON a "political purpose?"

2. Didn't @ssholes like Mitt Romney and his fellow Democrats spend more than two years sanctimoniously preaching to us about how critical it was to investigate the 2016 election?

Dear Mitt King of the Morons

The GOP is breaking small donor fund raising records off Impeachment. Let that sink in before you blow anymore idiotic smoke.

Mike Murphy, is a bitter clown loser. He is the same moron that spent $114 million to get Jeb 3% of the vote. You should fire him today for gross incompetence. Let me tell you truth. Contrary to the idiocy being spun to you by Murphy, you are NEVER going to be President. You are NEVER going to replace Trump as head of the GOP.

You bitter ignorant Never Trumpers, better wake up. You cannot get rid of Trump and survive as a political party. Any move against Trump will trigger a hurricane against the GOP-E that makes what happened to the GOP after Nixon look like a minor rain shower.

You are yesterday’s fools. US Voters have all ready consigned you losers to the trash heap of history.

What is this political purposes cr**. It's an invention.

So apparently you can't talk to other countries about THEIR obligations? We have a Corruption Treaty with Ukraine approved by the Senate and signed off By Bubba in 1998.

And remember, the new President of Ukraine ran almost totally on "Getting Rid of Corruption".

Quid pro quo is the new "is".

It’s not “for a political purpose”, and disgraceful Mitt Romney should know that.

Massive crimes have been committed, and are ongoing. These crimes include but are not limited to treason, bribery, seditious conspiracy, tortious interference, and many others.

The President is obliged, under Article II, to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed”. In this case, this includes soliciting by any means at hand information material to prosecuting and convicting the criminals in the possession of foreign governments.

The only real concern I have is why Democrat’s like Mitt are allowed to call themselves Republicans.

When did Utah legalize “medical” marijuana for political purposes?

Sorry Mitt, but it is and ought to have been a U.S. government purpose, recognized by whomever is currently the U.S. president, to ask the new government of Ukraine to look into affairs in Ukraine that appear to have included Ukraine officials involved in, interefering on one side or the other in the U.S. presidential election of 2016. Yes, the U.S. government RIGHTLY wants to know if the current Ukraine government understands that and is looking into it.

The fact that that shenanigans was attempting to go against the sitting U.S. president is not as relevant or material to the matter. What went on in Ukraine and with Ukraine officials with regard to one of the paries in the U.S. presidential election was wrong and ought to be investigated. That is not about “politics” any where near as much as it is about proper and improper realtions between the governments of the two nations.

Is there some reason that just because Donald Trump was the target of the shenanigans that therefor Donald Trump, now head of the U.S. government, has no right or obligation to make the inquiry he did? No, none whatsoever.

In fact, to me, as head of the U.S. government Trump had an obligation to not ignore what went on. He had a governmental obligation to ask what he asked of Ukraine’s new leadership.
