Sustained winds over 45mph. Gusts over 90mph.

Humidity in low teens to single digits.

No rain since March.

Norcal has not seen wind like this since the 1940s.

To top it off, we’re going to see another wind storm on Tuesday.

Perhaps if they shut off the electricity to the entire state for the next four months that will help.

I am in this tiny sliver, in the middle of Santa Rosa, that has power and is not under an evacuation order.

Good thing; between the fireworks I bring back from Montana and all of the reloading supplies (although tragically all the firearms suffered from a boating accident a few years back), it would be more of a danger zone than most.

Air quality is crap, winds are raging. My place of employment is in an evac zone and may, or may not be there when this is over; same for the wife. But since I’m a block away from a major hospital I’m in abetter place than most.

Very sad, I would not want to be a PG&E executive in this area right now.

I am reading of spot fires happening all over the place around Norther California. If we can esacpe this week and next without fire here in our area, it will be a blessing. We have had wildfires right up the road but always go the opposite direction, but the winds would bring it right here...yikes...Monitoring all stations I can...Cal Fire, Local GMRS, etc..as well as connected to the Winsystem...

I live almost next to Memorial Hospital, and close to the main fire station. And advantage also is that this house is stucco with a 80 year old Mexican style roof; the first folks who settled here wern’t dumb- this area burns regularly.

People are acting shocked when there are species of plants around here that will NOT propagate without exposure to wildfire. The Spanish and Mexicans understood this- adobe with tile roofs.

I won’t be surprised to lose power, but anyone who isn’t an idiot worthy of Darwination is prepped for an earthquake, which won’t have ANY notice!

Hmm, better finish off that last case and a half of beer, in case the power goes off.

Fire in Layfayette...evacuations. That means Orinda, Moraga and Pleasant Hill all can be under threat. Getting really bad. Got an old army buddy living in Layfayette...

California is still the state with four seasons different from the rest of the country:
Fire, flood, earthquake and riot.

I heard at least one Fox news reader describe the name of the town as “geezerville” which I’m sure is not the correct pronunciation for its name.

Thankfully the riots are pretty much confined to a few places. Earthquakes are just a given, after the 3rd or 4th not too scary. None if this waiting for days or hours for the tornado or storm to come and go; if it’s over and you’re still alive you will probably live.

I’ve lived in this same house for over 50 years.... there is nothing new under the sun.
