Geyser - Ville.
they wouldn’t say ‘old Faithful Geezer’ when describing the geological phenomenon.
Geyserville is such a neat town,. too. Very much like this area was 50-100 years ago. I know it well, have played gigs there and belong to a wine club or two based there.
Do you have a link? Son in law attends cal maritime.
I lived in Alhambra valley near Lafayette for many years. Sympathy for many I know who live there who are not lefties. Terrible event.
Plus mudslide season which coincides with flood season.
When it's not too dry and windy the weather is pretty dang good though. I have to admit I've never lived anywhere the weather was better than San Diego. Even Hawaii has too much rain but otherwise just as nice.
If CA could be turned solid red and the prices went back to being something an average person could manage; I'd consider moving back there but I don't think it will. At least no in my lifetime. The sadistic evil fascist Marxist Nazi-like dems have it locked down.

Lower pressure gradient this time than in 2017, 12 mbars versus 18 two years ago. What might be worse is the duration, but that's harder to measure.
Forest Fires: The environmentalist way to clear the underbrush and cook a lot of animals.
Sooo many spot fires, can’t imagine trying to keep up.
Continued prayers.
It seems they stood firm at Windsor, looks ok for now.
You assume correctly. They evacuated the spotted owls before they notified the humans.
Re: Winds peaked out with gusts at 93 mph.

That’s high wind for sure. Do you know if it’s meteorological... or caused by the fire itself?
Some of the highest wind readings are on the top of mountains so they catch the breeze, or in canyons lined up with the wind direction.
Amazing... thanks!
It’s Geyserville, Ca.
Pronounced as in OLD FAITHFUL GEYSER of Yellowstone National Park.
The town got it’s name from all the hot springs and small geysers in the area, from an underground volcanic hotspot.
Currently (at least about 15 years ago) they were generating a lot of geothermal energy there.
Overnight all of Fitch Mountain in Healdsburg came within the fire perimeter. Bad news for my sister and hundreds of other families who live along the Russian River there. It is (or was) a lovely spot for a home or vacation home, but lots of steep hillsides covered with brush puts it at high risk for fire. I thought the fact that a fire moved through the area a couple years ago might have gotten rid of fuel on the approaches. Nope. And two bends of the Russian River were apparently just a speed bump.
