I don't know what to think of this.

Am I supposed to care more about Israel than American Jews do?

Because, despite all of the excellent writing by Daniel Greenfield, his audience isn't really American Jews, it's American conservatives, who are overwhelmingly Christian.

Despite what Greenfield describes 80% of Jewish Americans will vote for which ever candidate the Jackass Party puts up, just like they did in 2016, 2008 and previous elections.

It seems like a very precarious position for American Jews who support Israel to continue to elect people from the Democratic Party which is increasingly anti-Israeli.

It seems like the logical thing would be for Jewish Americans to move en-masse to the Republican Party, at least for national elections, who continue to be the steadfast friends of Israel that both parties were in the past.

But they aren't doing that.

At some point the GOP may reconsider their strong support for Israel.

To some extent Trump is the tip of that spear.

He went against the entire foreign policy establishment to get out of Syria. A non-interventionist foreign policy and disengagement in the Middle East is still a minority position in the GOP - only two candidates talked that way, Rand Paul was the extreme version, and Donald Trump was the moderate version.

A lot of old-school conservatives and Never Trumpers believe it's inevitable that the pendulum swings back, and the next GOP Presidential candidate will be someone like Marco Rubio, who is a big supporter of Israel. But of course, a lot of those same people never thought Trump could win the nomination in the first place.

The GOP would be more likley to stand with Jewish Americans in support of Israel if Jewish Americans stood with the GOP, but they don't.

Of course many non-Jewish Americans are very fond of Israel on it's own merits, regardless of what which candidate their Jewish neighbors support.

But the cognitive dissonance in holding this position becomes more difficult all the time. Democrats demonize American's desire for border security and builing a wall. Democrats demonize Trump, and the many of the most active participants in the completely illegitimate effort to remove Trump are the most powerful Jewish-American Democrat's running the effort, like Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, and their two respective chief counsels hired from Lawfare Daniel Goldman and Norm Eisen.

Meanwhile, the remaining bipartisan group of pro Israel politicians send American foreign aid money to Israel, which helps pay for their wall construction.

I only want for my country, my ONLY country, what Israel has for theirs, but almost all my Jewish friends are working to prevent me from having that - at the same time they expect me to strongly support Israel having what every they need - 'for their security".

More Americans died from Mexican lawlessness flowing into the USA in one month than Israeli's from Palestinian terrorism in the last five years. The drunk drivers, the rapists, the drug overdoses from smuggled drugs, the MS-13ers.

You are missing the point that Marxist/atheist Jews who do not consider themselves people of the Book are opposed to the government of Netanyahu and prefer the division of Jerusalem. These are the stiff necked Baal worshippers of Exodus. They are still Jews and they are still part of the group known as God’s Chosen People. They are not, however, always His greatest admirers. Some, indeed, do not acknowledge His authority in their lives.
As to your concern about Christians, most consider themselves “grafted into” the Abrahamic election. “We shall be your people and You shall be our God.” Greenfield speaks to the Christian community as members of the spiritual family that some in his ancestry have fallen away from.
