The Washington Nationals will head to the White House Monday to meet with President Trump following the team's historic World Series victory. But pitcher Sean Doolittle won't be going.
"There's a lot of things, policies that I disagree with, but at the end of the day, it has more to do with the divisive rhetoric and the enabling of conspiracy theories and widening the divide in this country," Doolittle said in an interview with The Washington Post.
"At the end of the day, as much as I wanted to be there with my teammates and share that experience with my teammates, I can't do it," Doolittle said. "I just can't do it."

If I were the President, I’d stop with all the nonsense and time dedicated to professional athletes that were doing their job. I’m not a class warfare guy nor do I care what a team or owner pays a player. I may be in shock sometimes, but that is there business, not mine and other than watching some games on tv, I don’t buy the jerseys(maybe a Yankee, Cowboys or Rangers hat) and I don’t go to games. So, I’m not putting anything into that till, anyway.
This clown is one of those guys, that when asked to give examples, he’d stutter and stammer and then just say....Orange Man Bad!!!!!! and storm off, as he’s unable to put a coherent thought together or answer any question when challenged.
So, at the end of the day....Who gives a rat’s ass what this moron says or does?

That is exactly the message I was about to post so
I’ll just say that I would respect the guy if he
just announced that he wasn’t going to attend and
leave it at that. Even better would be to not go and
not comment period. I think he disrespects teammates
who might prefer to not attend but will go to maintain
harmony. He puts others in a position to almost be
compelled to explain themselves to the media when they
would prefer to keep it to themselves.
