What I Learned About the Transgender Politics Injected Into This Affluent County’s Schools
The Daily Signal ^ | November 3, 2019 | Cathy Ruse

I live in Fairfax County, Virginia, which has the 10th-largest public school district in the nation, but I never focused on our public schools.

My kids go to Catholic schools, and that was the center of our universe. I never focused, that is, until I heard that the Fairfax County School Board voted to let boys into the girls’ bathrooms.

The vote was 10-1. Was there only one sane person on the Fairfax County School Board?

I had to find out. So I began attending school board meetings.

And there I saw moms and dads begging the school board to stop threatening their child’s privacy and safety in intimate spaces and on the sports field. They pleaded with the board to stop the pornographic reading assignments. They tearfully asked board members to respect their family’s religious beliefs.

These were my neighbors, fighting to stop their school board from playing sex politics with their children.

This shouldn’t happen anywhere in America. I resolved that it wasn’t going to happen in my county, on my watch, without a fight.

Fairfax County, just outside Washington, is the second-richest county in America. But most parents here don’t know that every year, beginning in seventh grade, their children will be taught lessons on “transgender theory.”

How did this happen? It started with a vote in 2015 to add “gender identity” to the Fairfax County school system’s nondiscrimination policy.

You can watch the vote on YouTube. Hundreds of parents, filling the room, occasionally shouting, trying to be heard. You can see the board chairman gavel them down and threaten to kick them out. You can see Ryan McElveen, the sponsor, scolding them, telling them they’re on the wrong side of history.

Those parents that are groveling should all grow some balls and remove their kids from the school system until changes are made

Fascinating. I figure this means the parents of students in the school district are highly credentialed, hold jobs in government or the government-funded "private" sector, support expanding government ... and yet, they've been shown the door by their school board and school-district bureaucracy.

How does this happen?

No one wants to see a child in distress, especially a child suffering from sex confusion.

I find this sentence revealing of ... something. Why is the hypothetical "distress" of a child suffering from "sex confusion" special?

Why should we empathize more with sex-confusion-child than with a child who is short, tall, or overweight, or a child with eczema or unmanageable hair?

It's what happens when the schools grab the people by the "kiddies".

Perhaps they couldn’t afford their lifestyles without the “free” school.

Elections matter.

If the opposition is deep, how do these people get re-elected?

This is the battle faced all over the country.

And its why we keep losing.

The psychological harm and confusion.

Exposing children to age inappropriate sexual material can actually cause kids to experience earlier puberty than would otherwise happen. (Told to us by a PhD psychologist friend of ours).

Until the hormones kick in, it’s better for the boys/girls to think that the girls/boys have cooties.

Sex is for adults, not kids.

Yes, that is a documented phenomenon. It's very interesting piece of information about the brain's affecting the rest of the body.

What? Don't you realize that gender confusion might lead to sexual dissatisfaction?

And sexual satisfaction is the highest good and the meaning of life?

My wife was a stay at home mom.

Yea, we lived pretty frugally but it was worth every penny. Now that we don’t need to, we still do.

We found that home schooling was actually cheaper on the budget than public school would have been.

Even with four kids. we never spent more than $1500 a year.

But we never had to spend $150 each on the school supplies list, pay extra fees for anything or get them a new wardrobe every year.

As they got older, they did do some extra activities but none were very expensive.

They turned out pretty good and include being a copy editor at a Christian publisher and an Astronautical Engineer at NASA. All are living on their own.

I think you’re on to something. I wonder if there is more data in support of the thesis ...

I think I’ve forgotten how to type a non-ironic sentence. Is it the absurdity of the universe or the influence of teenagers?

With ten children of my own - but only seven still at home, and when did you say you were moving, Tom? - I get where you’re coming from.

It helps if you start out living frugally. It can be hard to change if, for example, you have a big house in Fairfax County and there’s nothing more affordable in the area. You’re at the extent of your means, you discover that your public school has gone barking moonbat ... and private school is $50,000 a year.

If you try to organize an opposition to the administration, you could literally find yourself driven out of your employment by the social media mob.

Are these 2 examples actually XY female and XX male, or an XY who appears female, and an XX who appears male?

You know how when you pass a housing development and the sign says “Homes from mid $200’s” or something like that? Fairfax County the signs say “Homes from the low six figures” like that’s a good thing.

It’s almost 100% vultures living off the taxpayers. The few frugally minded people there probably should move out and get their families into some semblance of reality.

I feel for them but they knew what they were getting into for the most part.

Where are all the so-called “good” teachers that everyone seems to know? Huh? Why aren't these so-called “good” teachers refusing to implement these evil and soul destroying practices?

Answer: Silence

Evil teachers **WILLINGLY** choose to hurt children and they do it for money. No one is holding a gun to their heads.

Personally....I shun government teachers. I don't have abortion workers for friends, either.

They have all the physical characteristics and abilities.

I just post because its not as simple as XX and XY. The genetic basis of sex is going to get more confusing over the next century as genetic testing gets cheaper, more accurate and more common.

However, its still NO reason to allow men in the ladies’ room.

That’s what our society has elevated it to. Sex is the only way, especially early sex, it seems, is the only way you can truly join the human race in this society. And then people wonder why “incels”, who are naturally looked down upon by the sexually experienced, go ballistic and commit mayhem.

There are genuine transgenders out there: Kleinfelders (sp?) syndrome (XXY, XXYY, XXXYY, etc.), Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (effeminate XY folks; the full-blown variant essentially produces women with a Y chromosome), XYY males, who some believe have a higher tendency toward criminality, XX males (in which one of the X chromosomes has a gene sequence normally found on the Y), etc.

The current transgender fad makes a mockery of these people.
