Milwaukee's News/Talk Station MENU DAN O'DONNELL School Cancels First Grade Thanksgiving Play Over 'Sensitivity' Concerns posted by Dan O'Donnell - Nov 15, 2019 1.8K Stone Bank Elementary School in Oconomowoc has canceled its first grade Thanksgiving play "out of respect for Native Americans" and concerns about "the sensitivity of this time in our history."
"Unfortunately, the children are unable to dress as a Pilgrim or Native American," teachers wrote in an email to parents. "We apologize if you already purchased or made your child’s costume. There have been some conversations and concerns about the accuracy of the first Thanksgiving story. Out of respect for Native Americans, and the sensitivity of this time in our history, we are not going to reenact the first Thanksgiving story.
"Please disregard the practice paper your child has been busy reading over the last few days. We still plan to have a Thanksgiving program where the children will perform a play, sing some songs, and share a big book with you. Again, we are sorry for the change of plans and hope that you understand."
Before the re-enactment play was canceled, parents were sent a handout instructing their children to learn a brief line about the first Thanksgiving.

Would’ve worked for me as a kid, I freakin’ hated getting up in front of people and singing against my will. I did anything possible to get out of that. I have no problem with kids not being subjected to that. Public schools just ruin everything. Forcing somebody to take a music class for 8 years in a row when they’re not musically inclined is morally wrong. Same with art classes, 98% of the students don’t benefit from that crap. There’s nothing worse than being ridiculed by an art teacher because your piece of art is no good. I never claimed to be an artist, you skunk! /rant off

Take away a people’s history and you destroy them as a unified social unit. Erase Thanksgiving, the Fourth of July, Jefferson, Lincoln, etc., and replace them with the progressive version of white supremacy and oppression.

You are not concerned with them wanting to erase Thanksgiving and the lessons that could be learned. You are concerned about forcing kids to perform against their will? The issue of children being compelled to do something against their will is what riles you up? Not that this is being done in the name of erasing a lesson about Thanksgiving? Is that what you are telling us?

They’ve been pulling this krep for years....ignore them and celebrate with a huge turkey dinner and tons of trimmings. No one in my fam wants to cook, so we go to the best restaurant in town for their legendary Thanksgiving buffet. $50 per and worth every cent—you have to make reservations months ahead.
My mother was from Massachusetts and said turkey wasn’t really plentiful back then, but lobster was. So for a few years she took us to the Cape Cod Room at the Drake Hotel on Boul Mich, Chicago. No one objected to lobster!!!
“White School Teachers” are the only folks who celebrate Kwanzaa too. Even black people have dropped that silly fake holiday.

It sounds as though the Thanksgiving play is meant to be attended by students AND parents. If I was one of the parents I would attend in full Pilgrim or Indian regalia as would my child, along with a friend or family member to document the whole thing, followed by posting the video far and wide on the Internet. Imagine if most, or ALL the parents showed up with their children in forbidden costumes, took over the room and put on the show themselves.
As a follow up, use the contacts with other parents to organize a slate to run for the next school board election and use the video documentation in the campaign with a promise to fire all the Fifth Column Commies.
