Left handed sugars pass right through a person. Will be very interesting if there are left handed sugars found.

“The team discovered...sugars...that are rich in carbon.”
Damn that evil carbon...it’s everywhere. No wonder the solar system is warming.

They analyzed powdered samples of the meteorites? Does this mean that they found powdered sugar?

Left handed sugars pass right through a person. In that case, I guess we can conclude that Oreos (my personal fave) are made from right-handed sugars. They hang around the waistline indefinitely.

So who was the first guy to lick the meteorite? Any relation to the guy who licked a toad to see if he could get high?

Yeah, yeah - got it!
Magic meteors created life.
Wonder what the mathematical probabilities of that are?

Are they saying that they entered the atmosphere, and didn’t burn?

Stop calling them lifes building blocks. You cannot construct life using just that. Compounds found in living creatures, and in rocks.

It gives you the runs. When I worked in a candy factory we we brought in a sample to experiment with. It cleanses your colon, but good... as in explosive diarrhea. As in screaming “GET OUT OF MY WAY” running clenching your cheeks and not making it kind of situation. As in blown O-ring. Tastes just like regular sugar. Acts just like sugar in baking and candy making. Would make a terrible thing to bring to a pitch in.

My erudite coworkers 30 years ago more or less blew me off when I brought up the question of “handedness” in amino acids and sugars. They still haven’t a clue how it could happen.
Miracle #1: Amino acids link up into polymers at least 200 units long.
Miracle #2: All the amino acids are left-handed.
Miracle #3-???

Is that what lactulose syrup is made from (sugars that absorb water and, being indigestible, pull it into the colon)?

given the inestimable numbers of meteorites that have transited the cosmos throughout the ages, probably pretty good...
