Spencer must be colossally dumb if he thought he could win this game.
Those military personal who refuse to accept, and follow, presidential orders, would not tolerate the same insubordination from any under their command, or supervision. Pres Trump has so many govt prince and princesses to deal with it is a wonder he can remain focused on his MAGA job.

I read some where yesterday that 0 quietly chitcanned around 175 very senior and very "traditional" officers from our military during his first term.

A flag officer does not get to choose which orders to obey and which to ignore. Disobeying a direct order from the CinC is a court marshal offense.

As commander and chief is Trump allowed to fire people, or is that an impeachable offense?
If the Navy wants to put out the fire now that the SECNAV has been fired as a result of Admiral Green’s actions, the CNO should remove Admiral Green to allow a fresh start. Otherwise both the acting and later new SECNAV still have a mess on their hands. CNO can fix the problem by cutting Admiral Green loose.
