my ancestors arrived in pre-colonial days as indentured servants from Ireland. Indentured servant-hood is a form of slavery. If I lived in Evanston would that be worth a cup of copy?

Perhaps reparations could be paid for by taxing certain products, e.g. Jet magazine.
Ironic considering Evanston was dry until the 1970’s; the first liquor stores opened in the 1980’s.
First, they start with the obvious, black slavery reparations. But next it could be climate change reparations. Or maybe they'll expand to include other issues like student loan debt reparations. Or disparate housing reparations. Or income inequality reparations. Or LGBT discrimination reparations. Or gun control reparations. Or illegal alien reparations.
The possibilities are endless with the democRATS.
Nothing in life is fair with liberals and they mean to rectify that by giving taxpayer-funded reparations to everyone to appease them for votes and to assuage their own guilt.

I worked in Evanston for a few years and occasionally ‘sidestreeted’ to avoid traffic.
Many very nice parts of Evanston and it is not the gardener or the garbageman with all that melanin.
Some well-to-do areas with many black residents.
As goes Evanston, so goes Oak Park.
