Joe Biden is promising to not comply if subpoenaed by lawmakers to testify at the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump in the United States Senate.

The former vice president, who had already ruled out voluntarily testifying at the impeachment proceedings, told NPR in an interview published on Monday he would not cooperate with a subpoena.

Biden is just a private citizen with no privilege so he has to appear before the Senate or he can be arrested just like any other witness. The problem is if he is forced to appear his lawyers must advise him to refuse to testify based on his 5th amendment right against self incrimination. He would be within his rights but from a political perspective it would be the end of his run for President.

Fortunately for him the Senate is prepared to bail him out and not have him testify. The Dems pulled the bribery charge which eliminates anything to do with the phone call from consideration. The abuse of power will only be about delaying the aid for personal reasons which is bunk. The obstruction of Congress charge is actually an abuse of power by the Congress for charging the President for resisting a demand by a coequal branch of government that he feels is acting unconstitutionally.

All of this avoids having anything about Hunter or Joe brought up so they can skate for now. The whole trial process is designed to be a “fast-track” way to dismiss the whole sorry episode so all the Senators can get make it to the Iowa caucuses in time.

All the more reason to supena him. They will impeach Trump because he went to the courts, the hypocrisy will be quite in your face and Trump can bash him with that for a full 11 months

Just tell Joe he did a fantastic job at the hearing and that he and Hunter are only going to jail for a little while. He’ll shrug and follow you to the pudding line.

Not sure how much sense he would make if he showed up. He’d talk about stacking spaghetti sauce or something.

Why should he? Skankles defied subpoenas at will for decades, and nothing ever happened to her.

Can a private citizen (which Gropin' Joe Biden is ...) refuse a subpoena by the US Senate?

The Supreme Court has long held that Congress’ Article I legislative function includes a so-called “power of inquiry” that permits it to gather any information it considers necessary when considering new laws or when evaluating the implementation of existing laws. For close to a hundred years, the Court has held that this power of inquiry — along with a compulsory process to support it — is essential to Congress’ legislative authority. Recipients of this process — whether in the form of a congressional subpoena or otherwise — are bound to comply so as to “respect the dignity of the Congress and its committees.”

And if I was PDJT I would have myself filmed on the WH porch. Looking at his watch and saying he has 6 hours to comply..

When President Trump doesn’t comply, it’s one of two impeachment charges. When (former) Vice President Biden refuses to comply, it’s showing strength. If it weren’t for double standards, the globalist left would have no standards at all.

Nobody cares if this vain jackass agrees to testify. What could he have to say that we don’t already know?

The House managers are the ones who call the witnesses and they aren’t going to call Biden. The Senate as a whole must approve witnesses and they aren’t going to allow any to be called much less Biden. It’s an empty threat.

Why wouldn't Leghair want to testify before Congress?

Foghorn Leghair, Biden's new nickname.

Would love to see him hauled in in handcuffs and told that he’d be held in contempt if he didn’t answer questions and also if he lies.

Could you see him taking the 5th? A presidential candidate taking the 5th. Sweet. Grant him immunity and make him answer.

Just put his call transcripts and videos in evidence. Play the video. Read the transcripts with a Biden actor.

Obstruction of the Senate!!!!
