clint approves the scripts for his movies. She’s a real person. Does that help you?
Could be worse. It could have been a Disney movie.
She did sleep with the guy, and now everyone knows for sure.
They were one bag of popcorn away from breaking even and staying in business. Darn!
I know what you’re thinking. Did he vacuum six rooms or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a Dyson V11, the most powerful vacuum in the world, and would suck your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?
Weve already been here. The reporter is not. She WAS a real person. Theres is no recourse for slander or libel of a dead person. If there were, Michael Jacksons estate would be in courts across the country.
yes we are full circle. You continue to mix law with morals and ethics.
It is puzzling that i am trying to get someone with the name or title Sgt got understand ethical and moral behavior. So without continuing this circular argument, I will say good-night.
Interesting in the comments on EW page:

Olivia Wilde raised the same point. And yes just in the past year there have been 2 scandals about female journalists sleeping with sources. By the AJC’s own admission, Scruggs flirted with officers and FBI, and was once caught drunk and naked in a taxi. Not hard to put 2 and 2 together
Wondering what is the source of this?
I can know that there is no evidence. Because nobody has shown any evidence. The filmmakers have admitted that was part of their artistic license, and that they had no information about such a thing happening.
(the film is fiction, just “based on” true events, so this is not out of the norm, other things in the film are composites of different people and places because films have to limit the number of characters, and the number of unique scenes).
Well, she is dead, so they can’t ask her. But the recent idea that people should have to prove they didn’t do things is a very bad turn for truth and civility.
Eww. That's gross! Sick. Baba is a necrophile?
I am of the opinion that those who live by the sword (or the unverified allegation) should die by it.
This (late) reporterette is in no way entitled to any benefit of any doubt as an employee of the AJC at the time if this incident. Had the AJC done the honorable thing and paid Jewell for their mistake, and owned it in public, instead of fighting Jewell tooth and nail for every last nickel I might be more amenable.
