The Inspector Generals Report, into the Trump-Russia investigation includes more than its fair share of bombshell revelations. Theyre not revelations the Democrats were hoping for, however. Quite the opposite.
Inspector General Michael Horowitz revealed that the investigation uncovered 17 inaccuracies and omissions that the FBI neglected to include in its applications for a FISA warrant against Carter Page. As you may recall, Carter Page was a Trump campaign staffer accused of colluding with Russia during the 2016 election. Getting a FISA warrant to surveil and wiretap Carter Page meant they had a direct way of monitoring and surveilling the Trump presidential campaign
Some of the the inaccuracies and omissions were truly breathtaking. For example, they told the FISA Court that Page had numerous contacts with Russians, including some who may have worked for the Russian intelligence services. Thats pretty serious and on the face of it is a strong reason to monitor an American working on a political campaign. But the FBI forgot to mention to the FISA Court that Carter Page was working for another intelligence agency (the CIA) and was meeting the Russians at their behest.
The FBI also failed to mention that Christopher Steele who created the infamous dossier was often unreliable and had been fired as an FBI informant because he was talking to the media. In short, they failed to do any due diligence and when they found information that would cause the FISA Court to ask questions they forgot to include it.
The list goes on. Some on the left have argued that these inaccuracies and omissions are merely mistakes and perhaps could be blamed on incompetence or poor procedures. In a different case, perhaps that would be believable. We could assume that such a case one in which incompetency runs rampant would end up hurting and benefitting both sides of this case. Some of those mistakes, therefore, would have to work out in the Trump teams favor, rather than in favor of those promoting the Russia collusion conspiracy (and vice versa). Right?
Thats not the case here. ALL 17 inaccuracies and omissions skew one way: against Donald Trump and the Trump campaign. That certainly cannot be a coincidence. Rather, its yet another indication of political bias in the FBI.
This isnt shocking. My film, FBI Lovebirds: Undercovers reveals that disgraced FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page hoped to use the Russia collusion investigation as an insurance policy to prevent Donald Trumps election or to serve as the basis of his removal from office following the election.
The IG report reveals there were forces within the FBI and federal government who hoped so desperately to prevent Donald Trumps election as president that they unethically used official government channels to try to prevent that from happening. Clearly, they failed. However, these revelations should still be of a concern to all of us because they reveal deep corruption within the FBI. Those 17 mistakes in the FBIs FISA application allowed for the unwarranted surveillance of a political campaign staffer. That should scare anyone.

Some people did some things. Let’s move on and impeach someone. ORANGE MAN BAD
Well....no one is perfect.
Simply confirms that IG Horowitz is a card carrying member of the deep state.
The IG’s refusal to take the next step call a spade a spade is probably because he is an Obama appointee, and was appointed because he would provide certain safeguards for Obama.
17? Tied to Q (17th letter)? Some say There are no coincidences.
As IG, all he has to base his conclusions on is the testimony of the government employees he interviews. If they all lie then there is not much he can do but refer them to DOJ for prosecution
This is exactly what happened to Trey Gowdy on Benghazi.
He faced a stone wall of government officials who gave him a well coordinated false narrative for cover up that was convenient but not totally plausible. The Comey/Mueller FBI played a lead role in the investigation there too. Who would have thought that a coordinated coverup by the heads of the FBI, DOJ, CIA and entire intelligence community, as well as top generals could happen - its the stuff of a tin foil hat conspiracy theory ( or was until now)
Most of the players in the FISA report are lying their butts off and everyone knows it. Its so blatant is beyond credible belief. Many are probably already under investigation by Durham so whats the point of a redundant criminal referral if they are already there
The Horowitz Report as it sits documents the culture of corruption and cover up at FBI and DOJ that developed under Obama.
That is useful in and of itself.
Additionally, this false testimony by the guilty players constitutes blatant perjury and reinforces suspicions of a complex scheme and conspiracy to criminally abuse government power and then to defraud and obstruct the justice system coordinated by high level government employees in a seditious plot to frame and remove a legitimately elected president
Its very possible that Horowitz intentionally left things where he did as a hand off to Durham as part of a larger strategy
Don't forget the 17 people that we were told, that we must "trust", that turned out to be untrustworthy.
No coincidences indeed. ;)
Carter Page. (Or “poor” Carter Page, as Laura Ingraham calls him). I said from the beginning, that he was working with the government. No one with his bona fides could possibly be the bashful, ignorant buffoon we kept seeing on tv interviews. I mean, come on! They got a FISA warrant based on his contacts in Russia, supposedly at Trump’s direction, but they didn’t go after him, like they did Flynn, Manafort, or Stone? Who believed that? I certainly didn’t.
Oh, no. Feinstein asked him if he found any evidence of a “deep state”, and he said, “No”. So, I guess that settles THAT, right? (HUGE eye roll)
OMG! What would evidence of a deep state look like? It’s one of those “I know it when I see it” things. She asked a bad question that has no good answer.
Except Horowitz interviewed no one. His enormous staff did all the interviews. I trust neither him, NOR his staff. A blind man with only one ear and one arm could feel around and find the presence of the deep state. It burns me up every time one of these IG reports come out. It’s always the same. They may find a list of things that are irregular, but it’s always just “happenstance”. There’s never any INTENTIONAL actions or bias. Yeah, I believe that./sarc
Most everyone in “high” places in d.c. are revolving door employees.
It seems the report is full of euphmisms for what was actually perpetrated by the criminal FBI officials: actual crimes of fraud, false statements, conspiracy, and dereliction of duty so egregious as to be criminal recklessness.
We will have to see where it goes from here.
FWIW, the IG investigative scope and time frame was very limited so much of the out of scope materials were transferred to Durham
At this point Horowitz seems to be trying to protect the institutions of the FBI and DOJ as best he can
Oh! Boy - just woke up from a nap and see Kamala Harris doing the questioning and by golly - she’s going after William Barr, the AG and asked Horowitz if he’s going to order an investigation of Barr. Maybe some of the others on the “left” did the same thing but this witch will do/say anything to prove her hatred for the president!
So - So - So - So - very, very irritating but Horowitz is an IG and I’ll say the same thing I’ve said forever - they are all a waste of time and money!
Woke up just in time so I get to see Senator Kennedy!! Worth sticking with it!
Both describe Harris
The disturbing part is that a large segment of the population takes this weirdo seriously and many have college degrees
Heck, many are college Profs
It is so sad to see that so many don’t ever see/read/hear anything but the twisted news media side of things. I sometimes - if I can stand it - listen to the callers on C Span who call on Republican or Democrat lines before hearings begin and it’s so apparent the ones calling on the dem lines have no understanding of what they’re being fed nightly. Everyone can have their own opinion but for gosh sake, show a little originality as if you really, truly understand the issues. Well, it’s probably true of those on the Republican lines also now that I think of it. HA!
