Here is the reality about the the myriad of Patriots cheating scandals that have surfaced under Bill Belichick: despite the sensationalist national media coverage, they are all minimal infractions, and going on the facts, incredibly dull.
That is the case regarding the latest allegation of supposed Patriots subterfuge. It all started Monday afternoon, when Bengals head coach Zac Taylor confirmed at his press conference the NFL is investigating New England for filming the Cincinnati sideline from the press box during its contest Sunday against the Browns. The bullet-point description of the claim reads like a redux of Spygate, the infamous filming scandal that resulted in the Patriots losing a first-round draft pick.
Contrary to the national narrative, the only confirmed Spygate infraction occurred during a game against the Jets in September 2007, when Patriots staffers were filming the Jets defensive coaches signals from their own sideline an undisclosed location. NFL rules allow teams to film opponents sidelines in "locations enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead," but not the field...

I’m following this thread just to follow all the virtue signalling and one-upmanship where FReepers will brag about why and how much they hate the NFL and how long ago they stopped caring or watching.
Just like on the NASCAR threads.
LOL!!
Greatest team in history? Maybe but one thing is sure, they play in one of the weakest divisions and have among the easiest schedules.
Brady is a great QB but he’s all but done at 42. He would be wise to hang up his cleats after this year. Watching him this year you can see he hears footsteps when he drops back and it is rattling him.
Whether you cheat a little or whether you cheat a lot you’re still cheating. And cheating to win is an admission you can’t win within the rules. Far from the greatest in NFL history.
Yes, the Patriots are finished. It was a good run.
When you do something so brazen, OF COURSE you have a plan ready to set in motion if you get caught. In fact, what better plan to ignite all of this than to do a "film" on your scout team?
"Why, if we get 'caught,' we'll just stop filming after half a quarter, a half, three quarters--or whatever. And we'll explain what we were doing with this film and immediately turn over the film to the NFL."
"And if we don't get caught? Hey, have you seen how much our offense is struggling and how we need every extra advantage if we're going to make it to the Super Bowl?"
Haters gonna hate.
The Pats have been amazing. Its something Ive had fun watching.
The calls for cheating are, for the most part Bullshit, minor infractions. The fact that opposing teams run around like crybabies looking for a break tells me they have no other way of winning.
When its over, its over. We will go back to mediocrity for a few years.
But our team has won six championships. And they did it with far more class than the other cities that burn themselves down after winning 1.
The vitriolic comments on FR about the patriots remind me that half of the country has below average IQsto get worked up over a sports team is just crazy.
When I heard that the Chiefs were within two hours of forfeiting last Sunday's game against the Pats because half their equipment wasn't unloaded from their charter before it left for New Jersey, the first thing that went through my mind was, "How did Belichick arrange that?"
dude, if you’ve got to cheat against Cincinnati, no matter how minimal, you’re a pretty dedicated cheater.
That might be true but I personally think the Patriots cheat and that’s how they have become the dynasty they are today.
The NFL is too competitive for any team to win as much as they do.
The Pats have had an easy schedule this season. It is also true that the Jets and Dolphins are not good. The Bills are.
However, the NFC east is HORRIBLE. Dallas is leading with a losing record 6W/7L.
The AFC Central is not exactly stellar. The Ravens are the best team in the NFL. They also play the Bengals, Browns and Steelers. Cinncy is the worst team in the NFL.
The AFC South has one good team the Texans. One mediocre team the Colts and two bad teams the Titans and Jags.
The AFC West has the Chiefs and three bad teams
I can keep going, but the fact is there are only 5 good teams this year: Ravens, Niners, Saints, Chiefs, Pats.
A few decent up and coming teams: Bills, Texans
You fags still watch football?
ha!
I think the Patriots won most of their big games in the Belichick era before they even stepped on the field. Belichick simply got into the heads of opposing coaches. Theres a reason why the Patriots won a bunch of Super Bowls but were 0-2 against two pretty average New York Giants teams. Belichick and NYG head coach Tom Coughlin worked together as assistants on the same staff under Bill Parcells 30 years ago, so Coughlin was never intimidated by Belichick.
In my mind, he does. Brady is a great QB, no amount of cheating can make him do what he does. But Bill is imo a very overrated coach because of his history of shadiness.
Oh and the Pats do not get the benefit of the doubt having been found guilty of cheating twice.
So the author’s assertion is that the Pats are such bad cheaters they’ve been caught on three separate occasions but so good at cheating that they’ve managed to win six super bowls during the same time period?
Elitist haters going to hate anybody they look down upon
