The Capital One Arena seats 20K, he could set up some folding chairs up front for Congress and fill the place with thousands of We The People.
Rather than having to go through the peoples’ representatives, I’d like to see Trump deliver the STU directly to THE PEOPLE from the largest enclosed stadium available.
The president is allowed to submit a written State of the Union message to Congress. That’s how it was usually done for many years.

Any grammatical form of the words “allow” and “permit” irritate me because they conjure up the notion of control by a higher authority, and raise such questions as “allowed by who?”.

Hell no. Give the SOTU in the Senate chamber. It does not have as much seating room as the House chamber, but there should be enough room if they don’t admit any democrats. They can broadcast it live to the House chamber where all of the democrats can watch.
I am thinking along the lines of a large heated tent on the Washington Mall.
50,000 supporters in the live audience. Republicans and those who voted against impeachment invited also. Dems can watch it on TV. He sends a DVD of the proceedings to Congress to fulfill the Constitution.

You don’t invite a President to SOTU if you seriously hope he will not be there because of impeachment.
