Sniffer Dogs Suffer for US Willful Ignorance About Islam

The Independent reported Tuesday that “the US has stopped exporting bomb-sniffing dogs to Egypt and Jordan after a number of animals died from mistreatment and neglect, US authorities said.” Those US authorities are likely scratching their heads over this, wondering what on earth could possibly be the motive of Egyptian and Jordanian law enforcement in mistreating these dogs. The explanation is simple, but since it lies outside the bounds of the military establishment’s politically correct fantasies regarding Islam, it will almost certainly never be acknowledged.

The clearest evidence of that is the fact that the decision to stop sending these highly trained dogs to Egypt and Jordan is only “temporary.” Apparently those who run the Antiterrorism Assistance Explosive Detection Canine Program, “which was established by the US government in 1983 to provide training and supplies to foreign law enforcement personnel,” think that whatever is leading the Egyptians and Jordanians to mistreat these dogs is a passing fancy, and that soon cooler heads will prevail.

Or maybe American advisers will have to sit down with the Egyptian and Jordanian law enforcement personnel and explain to them that the sniffer dogs respond better when they’re not starved or kicked, and then everyone will chuckle over this little misunderstanding, and everything will be all right. Maybe all the Americans need to do is explain to the Egyptians and Jordanians that, as a State Department official out it, these dogs “play a critical role in our counterterrorism efforts overseas and in saving American lives.”

I have a very good friend who was a military cop and dog handler. He is an Afghanistan and Iraq veteran.

The bond that was forged between our soldiers and these marvelous dogs is the stuff of legend. If Hollywood really wanted to make a GOOD movie about what really happened over there and the heroic military dogs, the script would practically write itself - and the American people would flock to see the film.

The author is correct. Islam teaches Muslims to HATE dogs.

He said he and his mates saw Muslims torturing dogs, and it took every ounce of his fortitude not to retaliate with deadly force.
