Gov. Abbott signs bill to eliminate straight-ticket voting beginning in 2020 [link]

Notice El Paso and Hidalgo counties in the graphic. This will play hell with the Mexican national vote.

I'm of half a mind to not just get rid of the straight-ticket option, but also eliminate party affiliation on the ballot. If you can't inform yourself enough to know who you're voting for, then why are you bothering to vote? I'll admit I don't keep track of all the down-ticket stuff, but I at least know who I'm going in for on State/Fed reps, Pres, Sheriff, etc.

I agree but the sad fact is most people are not engaged enough to do the research so you’re back to square one. Who’s the best liar and has the most campaign cash.
