FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- After protestors stormed a U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, the 82nd Airborne Division based out of Fort Bragg is preparing to be deployed to Kuwait, according to officials.

Defense Secretary Mark Esper later announced that "in response to recent events" in Iraq, and at Trump's direction, he authorized the immediate deployment of an infantry battalion of about 750 soldiers from the Army's 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to the Middle East. He did not specify their destination, but a U.S. official familiar with the decision said they will go to Kuwait.

There is one element of Trump's Presidency most of the news ignores, which is how he deploys the military. Trump is not one to bluff when it comes to military force. He does not use military action as a political prop. When he uses the military, he good and well means it.

Letting them know the Marines are in Baghdad and the 82nd Airborne is on the way does not matter if there nothing they can do about it. Let's hope there is good intel on this.

I wonder whether it was Brennan or Bolton who stirred up the protesters to get Trump involved in some sort of war before the 2020 election? Bolton was making a lot of noise about North Korea launching a missile for Christmas so it's probably Brennan kindling trouble in Iraq.

Maybe Nancy will find something to add to her articles of impeachment in Trump reacting to events in Iraq.
