Mitt Romney is turning into a John McCain clone.
In Utah, Romney actually came in second at the state convention. It was close, but the top two republican candidates then ran in a popularly elected primary which Romney easily won.
Romney is revered in Utah (why, I don't know, but he is). No one would have been able to defeat Romney in the primary, so it is that simple, unfortunately.
