Indeed, the latest data from the Department of Agriculture shows that 7.7 million fewer Americans receive food stamps now than did when Trump entered the White House. The Agriculture Department administers the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, but the actual food stamp benefits are distributed by individual states.

That would be over 2.6 million per year, I’m sure we would have seen it on ABCNNBCBS, with all of the talking heads using the same buzzword.
Im convinced that at least half of the homeless are capable of doing non-skilled entry level work. Problem is that welfare benefits are so generous they can live quite comfortable on them without working. The solution is to set a time limit on the benefits and start welfare to work program. This would ferret out the slackers from those legitimately needing help.

Considering that the food stamp rolls went up about what? — 30 or 40 million under Obama? — a 7 million reduction is just a start.

Simply reversing the trend is significant progress.
If we paid our Military a Living wage they would not need food stamps. They make less than a burger flipper.
Hubby served 20 yrs there was rarely enough pay to fund basics. Good thing he worked on the side repairing TV’s and radios for motels. 5-80. Nothing has changed. The Commissary is as expensive as a regular grocery store. With a few rare bargains. Exchange is designed for Brass not your SCPO and under. No base housing except for Brass.
I’m encouraged that we still have 7 million people willing to get off the program once they find a job.
