I might add that your generation needs “trigger warnings” and “safe spaces” as pre-conditions for learning in school. Its members have a pathological need to be coddled and protected from the challenging realities of life. Your generation is the biggest demander and consumer of carbon spewing technological gadgets and devices. An hour without any of them and too many of you succumb to paralyzing lethargy. Your generation is the least curious and most insular set of individuals one has ever encountered. Your hubris extends so far that you think you have nothing to learn from your elders.

The logical endpoint of your ecological vision would see us living in primeval conditions eking out an existence in jungle swamps in which we would regard poisonous snakes and man-eating tigers as our moral equals. My father, 94, is a WWII vet. One of those boys that lied about his age at 17 to get in. He has some amazing stories. He was a medic. He even helped rescue men from the USS Indianapolis.
I am so fortunate to still have both my parents, 94 and 91. Living in their own in their house doing incredible for their ages. Will celebrate their 72nd anniversary in May.
My mother also has many stories of the war effort and the sacrifices everyone was more than happy to do.

My dad was a WW2 veteran as well. He graduated from high school early so he could go to Navy flight school. He flew several combat missions in the South Pacific. He lied about his age so he could serve, it caught up with him in 2004. I took him to renew his drivers license and his records didn’t match. The state of NY had his birth year as 1925, the VA had his birth year as 1922. Dad told the manager at the DMV that he lied about his age so he could serve in the military. The manager said “ thank you very much for your service “, shook his hand and renewed his drivers license.

The flip side of the Greta Thornbooger complaints is the fact that her generation needs to THANK those older than her who have built Western Civilization from scratch to the point where she now enjoys a high standard of living, including a slave-manufactured iPhone in her hands that has vastly more computing power than that on board Apollo 11 that went to the moon in 1969.
All of the technology and medical advances that were available to her the moment she was born are the culmination of decades of work of scientists, engineers and inventors mostly in CAPITALIST societies where there was a reward for hard work and innovation!
Greta owes massive thanks to generations who preceded her for the long life expectancy and high standard of living she has in her life.
But, instead, she sneers condescendingly at her forbearers.

The article is off-base. Greta is a 17-year old puppet. She’s not a member of a working generation, she’s not a millennial (neither am I :) ) - she’s still technically of school age.
