Last year was the second warmest year on record around the globe, making the last decade the warmest in recorded history, according to a new government report released Wednesday.
Scientists from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and National Aeronautics and Space Administration said the higher average temperatures are the result of human activities that release greenhouse gases and that the trends of warming show that the effects of global warming and climate change are continuing beyond year-to-year fluctuations in temperature and weather.
Experts from NASA found that average global surface temperature has consistently increased since the 1880s, which their analysis found has been driven by emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases produced by human activity such as energy production and transportation.
“We crossed over into more than 2 degrees Fahrenheit warming territory in 2015 and we are unlikely to go back. This shows that what’s happening is persistent, not a fluke due to some weather phenomenon: we know that the long-term trends are being driven by the increasing levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere,” said Gavin Schmidt, director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies.
In 2019 temperatures around the world were higher -- about 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit or 0.98 degrees Celsius -- than the historical average, according to data from NASA and NOAA. It's the 43rd year in a row that temperatures were above average, the agencies said.

Thank God, because we almost all froze to death during the Ice Age of the 1970’s. Anything I can do help the Planet get Warmer and Greener I consider my Moral Responsibility.

How many weather stations were there in the world at the end of the 19th century recording daily high temperatures? Maybe a few dozen representing less than 10% of the Earth’s surface.
In reality the only accurate way to record surface temperatures for the entire world is weather satellites with infrared capability, the first of which wasn’t launched until one hundred years later. Maybe in the late 1990s they may have had enough satellites to get temperature readings on all of the Earth daily.
If you’re going to make baseless statements like this you should tell people that you’re really just making wild a$$ed guesses.
Google “highest temps in the US”. Take a look at Wikipedia. The majority of the highest temperatures by state occurred from 1930 to 1937 and most of the highs were in excess of 110 degrees. For example Idaho recorded a high of 118 degrees in July of 1934. Students of history will also recall that this time period when the “dust bowl” occurred on the Great Plains.
I don't care if you get grant funding and your hypothesis is wrong - if you are honest about it. That's science, and it adds to the cumulative knowledge - providing data that may prevent others from going down that same unproductive pathway in the future. As long as it's honest science, that's OK. If, however, you embellish your data, and publish things that are flawed and hyped, you should pay a big price as a scientist.
Warm some places. Cold others.

When you rig the data then you can get any answer that you want. You take a temperature monitoring station for instance. Instead of locating it near a forest then you locate it next to stone or blacktop. They have been eliminating stations that don’t support their argument. They play many games to get the answers they want.
