Trump impeachment defense team will include Ken Starr and Alan Dershowitz

President Donald Trump’s impeachment defense team will include Ken Starr, whose investigation led to the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, and Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, whose clients have included notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and O.J. Simpson.

The Trump team choices came to light as the president’s impeachment trial is set to begin in earnest next Tuesday in the Senate, where he is accused of abusing power by pressuring Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden last summer while withholding military aid to that nation.

In addition to Starr and Dershowitz, the lawyer Robert Ray is expected to be on Trump’s impeachment defense team. Ray had succeeded Starr has independent counsel in the Whitewater investigation of Clinton.

White House Counsel Pat Cipollone and Trump’s personal lawyer Jay Sekulow are heading the impeachment defense team.

Dershowitz committed the leftists’ cardinal sin: daring to think for himself. Now he must be punished.
______________
The punishment already began once he started appearing on Fox speaking out against the impeachment. He himself said that places that used to welcome him for book signings no longer want anything to do with him. Now the Democrats’ wrath will be incandescent.

Gowdy was asked to be on POTUS’s team last year but ended up backing out. Whatever criticisms you can level at Gowdy, and there are many, he’s a hell of a cross examiner. I would have loved to have seen him grilling the Bidens.

The audience that matters for the Senate Proceedings is American History

Accordingly, Senator McConnell will act and produce a result that will satisfactorily provide a precedent and comply with the constitutional responsibility of the Senate. Once the house has impeached, the Senate must consider the matter in formal detail. Although the voice is not very loud, history demands it.

I think this is especially true in light of the in arguable fact that the Democrats are going forward with impeachment solely to historically discredit forever President Donald J Trump who had the temerity to defeat their queen, Hillary Clinton. That fact is made prominent in the articles of impeachment.

What is happening at present is the creation of a historical damning of President Trump. The Democrats all know and understand their cause is lost in the present. The Democrats have therefore chosen to vindictively continue to destroy the president in the future.

The democrats know and understand that the Trump DOJ is going to destroy them. They are getting in their historical licks

Mark Levin should be part of the team.

I love Mark Levin, I DVR his program on Sunday, and some times watch it more than once.

BUT, Mark Levin is on his own team. He is a loud, very smart, very knowledgeable lawyer.

He can't shut his mouth, and I wouldn't want him on the "team".

I would keep Rudy far away from microphones and cameras.

Rudy is fine on camera, it's the booze before the camera that is the challenge.

Rudy is a drunk that loves Trump, but when he is rocken and rollen someone should be in charge of his mouth, because he is not.

I've lived the problem that Rudy has, and he is not trying to screw Trump, but...

I think trey gowdy is also involved if only giving advice. He’s pretty quick but Dershowitz is the best there is.

Check Prof Dershowicz Twitter feed for a short statement on the matter.

His opening oral argument is one part of the Senate Trial that this former JAG will watch. Should be pretty brutal.

I was always hoping he’d go on the team. He is “bulletproof” against any accusations of partisanship. He may be the last honest liberal law professor in America.

Is there anybody in this country whois not one hundred and eleventy billion years old?

Your statement is accurate.

However.. the pendulum will eventually swing the other way and people will be clamoring for maturity and wisdom of age.

Mark Levin should be part of the team.

He should be responsible for scanning the gallery for anyone with a cell phone in hand, yelling "get off the phone ya big dope"!

You said it so well. He's going to indulge his remarkable oratory skills and the GOP has cleared AN HOUR for AlanDersh to EVISCERATE this phony impeachment.

AN HOUR.

LOL I'd like to see him skip the speech and spark the rope revolution instead; but watch for Schuck Fumer to move for cloture or some horseshit about 4 minutes in after AlanDersh has laid the whole damn scheme bare.

As you age, you will discover you still have some value even if you are over 50 years of age.

Get over it. This was agreed to by the whole Senate. The House is a dictatorship, while the Senate has always been more consensual.

“As you age, you will discover you still have some value even if you are over 50 years of age.”_________________________________________________________________________________

I nominate this as the UNDERSTATEMENT of the decade.

There is a very, VERY GOOD REASON why every culture (until the recent cultural Marxist insanity started at least) in human history across the globe valued those who are older and accorded them respect, as well as looked to them for guidance and wisdom.

The one factor that is more important than IQ (which of course, is VERY important indeed and THE best early indicator of lifetime success) is this:

LIFE EXPERIENCE.

That is why no military will put a Captain, no matter how gifted, at the head of an army. Instead, it will be a well-seasoned and experienced 50-something General.

I am 100% (at least) wiser and better informed than my 48 year old self of a decade ago. And you can interpolate that upwards the farther back you go. The key, of course, is to continue learning, expanding, and conquering new challenges.

Back on topic - and THAT is what Dershowitz will be “bringing to the party”. I hope tens of millions of Democrats watch his presentation. For the sake of our nation.

You and the RINO Senate can roll over any time you want to for the Dems, it will never be my choice as long as I have a voice. Participating in any way with this phony ass debacle is shameful and it tells you all you need to know about the Republican controlled Senate. I am waiting for those opening arguments by the President’s team. Let’s see if the Senate still has a leg to stand on in any way after the team gets through shaming the hell out of their stupidity for going along and playing into the hand of a corrupt Pelosi hoax.
