Increasing? I call BS.
I’ve heard of soldiers using them to stop the wounded’s blood loss in Iraq.
It’s hard to take them seriously as gun rights advocates when they espouse an ideology that considers the very concept of individual liberty and natural rights a “bourgeois conceit.” They get their ideas of the rights of man from Marx and Mao, not Locke and Jefferson.
Instead, this is an attempt at Phase 1 of the “People’s War” outlined by Minh and Giap: building cells and front groups and stockpiling weapons in preparation for the terrorism and guerrilla war they will commence in Phase 2.
They’re forming these groups not for self defense [they as a group aren’t threatened by anyone] , but to scare those noncommittal /moderate people who don’t care about guns or the NRA one way or another as things are, but who, because they are not pro LGBTQ/progressive/anarchist/antifa/BLM, might be stirred into becoming fearful of gun groups in general if gun rights become associated with reactionary or rebellious movements, thus getting these moderates to accept and even support more regulation of guns in order to control seditious groups.
They’re banking on that reaction in order to win support for universal gun control....they want people to be so afraid of insurrection that they concede to gun control legislation to bar members of these groups from obtaining arms; once they get that, membership in non-seditious pro constitution groups will be included for “balance.”
I wonder how long it’ll take them to figure out that it’s “minorities” who are killing their members?
They are used, don’t let anyone tell you differently.
Back in the early 60s in Chicago, YPSL, YSA and similar groups were very much into oganized groups with guns.
On my Birthday, Nov 9, 1963 a right wing militia member came to my Wheaton College off campus room and told me the commies were planning a coup d’etat in Dallas. He urged me to join him in going to Dallas and standing up for freedom. I declined.
I went to YSA, YPSL and simiar grooups in Chicago and listened. They also had heard the same rumor, except it was the right wing militia who were planning the coup.
Nov 22, 1963 there were several hundred right wing militia members and several hundred left wing militia members in Dallas. Only 2 (or 3 if you count a guy on the grassy knoll) got off a shot. Hundreds of people specifically there for the action did nothing.
The reality of the action on Nov 22, 1963 came to them. Both left wing and right wing rumors and actions like that ceased to exist at any significant level for decades. The rist of antifa is the closest to what we saw pre Nov 1963.
I’m in GA now and no longer listen to the extremes in Chicagoland. Is there now an increase in either the left or right of armed action groups as there was pre-1963?
