Fine. Builders can stop construction in NJ. Not my loss.

"This is real. The dangers are there."

What is real? What dangers are you talking about? Be specific...

Climate change (formerly global warming) is not man made change.

Solar variations, cycles of weather and other natural factors have been true since tens of thousands of years ago, long before modern man’s machines.

We MUST get that to the American public. Schools teach tots to help “the Earth” from the first days of school. Un-brainwash them.

North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Pennsylvania will benefit from these land use regulations. The proposals will decrease housing stock in New Jersey, thereby decreasing the pool of available workers who will be priced out of decent affordable housing. This will discourage companies from moving to New Jersey and encourage a departure of businesses. Liberal state leaders tend to forget that the U.S. is a huge common market, and that people will flee the conditions socialistic and permissive policies create.

Better that this nonsense be done at the state level than the federal level, at least.

A new government manufactured housing shortage.

Taking the California road.

4 walls, a roof. Double plane windows, insulated attic, a screen door, a window fan, fireplace, central heating and AC.

That’s a house ready for all 4 seasons of climate change.

Ah, yes. There will be plenty of opportunities for graft and picking winners and losers. All in good fun.

“Phil Murphy might be forgetting that we still make the laws,” said Assemblyman Jon Bramnick,

Don't be silly...laws are for the little people...

Just wait until the mob run construction unions figure out how much their $$$$ cut will be impacted. Knee replacements will skyrocket...

If this nonsense becomes law expect the already ridiculously high prices in NJ to skyrocket to even more insane levels.

I thank God almost daily for the insight/foresight to leave the State when I did.

As an NJ homeowner who will be leaving a few years, I’m okay with this. By creating a housing shortage, it should raise the value of my house. If I am lucky, the market will crest just after I sell (when all the businesses announce they are leaving this craphole state).
It is such a shame for my county — we are in the pretty northwestern part of the state, but we get dragged into the sewer by voters in Tenton, Newark, Camdem, etc.

I am not opposed to updated codes for building.
New construction homes are much better insulated, better windows and doors than houses built previous to 1980.

The house I built in 1990 is still a better built structure than the two other houses I bought since then. These two other houses were both built in 1972.

Double pane Low E glass windows. Fiberglass or steel skinned foam insulated doors. R50 in the attic. House wrap. These are all changes to building codes instituted to save energy and MONEY. My electricity bill is over $200/month from Eversource in NH. It is not getting cheaper. I have done everything I can think of to lower the energy consumption of my house.

So, some of these regulations are not all bad.
