Yours is the second reductio ad absurdum argument to justify McConnell's repeated failure to defend the President against, in the present situation, the four RINO snakes, Collins, Murkowski, the Mormon Quisling Pierre Delecto, and the other non-entity. By definition, the four RINOs are sock puppets who, again by definition, are compromised denizens of the Swamp and hence always in fear of exposure by their Swamp keepers. Repubs have given this Impeachment garbage a high level of credibility and legitimacy.
But maybe that’s OK. So when the President is finally acquitted - the idiot democrats cannot claim the Senate didn’t give them a fair trial.

I don’t believe so. More witnesses were always baked in this impeachment cake. McConnell just put off giving us the bad news.
