Supposedly Boltons book says that Trump tied Ukraine aid to an investigation of Biden. If so, then I dont see how that could be anything other than a violation of the Presidents confidence and ergo the Executive Privilege. If thats what it says then I think Boltons career is done. No President is going to hire him if he has no respect for the Executive Privilege. I suspect that when we finally find out what he said, it will be a great deal more nuanced than what the NYT reports.
Trump should block his book.
Trump should block his book.
Bolton is a back stabbing traitor than much l do know. McCain 2.0 just a deep state scumbag
Can they subpoena Bolton’s manuscript and have the entire thing read into the public record? Wouldn’t be good for John’s book sales.
I completely agree that the actual words will be nuanced.
I also want to know who suggested Bolton for the job in the first place.
I was wondering the same thing but how didn’t Former FBI top snake Jim Comey not violate privilege, too. It doesn’t matter when the whole DOJ is crooked and compromised. Barr and Wray have turned out to be a lame ass joke.

Comrade Bolton?

No president is ever going to be able to trust anybody.
The gopE is doing to Trump exactly what the did to the Tea Party. You are kidding yourself if you believe this is Trump’s plan.
With so much on the line, I cannot believe that Bolton could not grasp the importance of Trump surviving.
If this is all about Bolton’s hurt feelings vs the very existence of our nation, he’s got a lot to learn if he thinks I’m going to be on his side.
Do we even know what the book truly says yet? I’m no fan of Bolton, but until we truly know what he writes, I’m gonna wait on what should be done with him.
Dang, it’s a long time since I’ve held a clearance. There were a lot of restrictions within one year of separation.
It looks like his separation was September 10, 2019.
Now he was much higher ranking - different rules, I’m sure.
Is he required to keep his mouth shut forever and ever? Surely not. For the duration of the Trump presidency?
The book definitely has to be reviewed by the security office, no?
LOL. Apparently you’re a glass-half-full guy. I hope you’re right.
I am on a mission to find out
As you said, it is a violation of confidence, and it is a violation of trust, but it doesn’t have anything to do with executive privilege, which pertains to the relationship between Executive and the other branches of government. There is no executive privilege over private citizens, even if they are ex-employees. Bolton’s only legal obligation is to not reveal classified information, which is why he has to submit his book to the govt. for review. However, his has a moral obligation to STFU, which is failing.
LOL...Don’t we all wish?
Good point: It was Vindman’s (”O-ho say, can you see . . . “) anti-Trump twin brother Yevgeny Vindman (”He ain’t heavy . . . “) at NSC who had the job of vetting Bolton’s manuscript. It’s been suggested that it was a sort of trap to catch Vindman leaking to the press, and that provocative bits may have been added to the manuscript to tempt him into blabbing.
Bolton just torpedoed whatever remains of his career. Head on a pike. Maybe he’ll join MSNBC? Doubt they’d even want such a lame traitor who will never be trusted by anyone ever again.
