John Roberts blocks Rand Paul's question on whistleblower
The Hill ^ | 01 29 2020 | Jordain Carney

Sen. Rand Paul's (R-Ky.) attempt to ask about the whistleblower whose report helped spark the impeachment inquiry is running into a roadblock in the form of Chief Justice John Roberts.

A source confirmed that Roberts has indicated he would not read a question from Paul regarding the whistleblower at the center of the House impeachment inquiry.

The question from Paul is expected to name the individual. Because Roberts is responsible for reading the questions that would put him in the position of publicly outing the person on the Senate floor.

Paul indicated to reporters after a closed-door Republican dinner that he was not backing from trying to ask his question.

“It’s still an ongoing process; it may happen tomorrow,” the libertarian-leaning senator told reporters as he headed back to the Senate chamber.

The Senate is in its first of two days for senators to question both House managers and President Trump's legal team.

Senators have been submitting their questions to Republican leadership, who were responsible for weeding out duplicate questions.

The statute only protects whistleblowers from any employer revenge, it contains no restriction on naming the person

Roberts is playing the Elijah Cum mings role. Obstruct and coverup.

Even the Democrats know the whistlesucker’s case is weak and say they don’t need him now.

What a corrupt action.

So did Roberts sleep with the Whistleblower
OR was he involved with obtaining Roberts’ children
violating laws in other countries?

I worry too. Politically, I think he is naive, at best.

But the Dims must smell his naive blood as they have been trying to get him to adjudicate, not gate-keep the Senate trial all day.

The Chief Justice does not have the authority to decide which questions are asked.

Has this clown Roberts ever heard of a right to face your accuser? Has he ever heard of the 6th Amendment? He’s only on the Supreme Court. He only went to Harvard.

6th Amendment?

The reason they cover up his name must be because he’s not really a whistleblower. He’s a spy. A spook, a circus clown.

Did Roberts see the question beforehand or did he refuse to read it when he saw the question?

for those that are not watching

Schiff said he is perfectly willing to have Roberts rule on issues with no review of his decision and challenged GOP to do the same

C’mon, Rand - just do it. First Amendment says you can ask it. They can tell you to shut up, but putting it out there is your right.

Just ask it in the right way - make sure you tie it to his premeditated discussion with Schiff-for-brains and earlier work with Biden’s people.
