WEST WARWICK, Rhode Island - The pastor of a Rhode Island church issued a flier which said that every state legislator who voted last year to preserve the right to an abortion in state law would be denied communion.

Father Richard Bucci distributed the fliers last week at Sacred Heart Church in West Warwick, the Providence Journal reported on Saturday. He also mailed them to the homes of several lawmakers.

The Jews in Jesus’ day were using Roman currency. But as church goers today our taxes pay for homicide. Where is the separation of church and state in this case?

This shouldn’t even qualify as news, but that’s the situation in which we find ourselves.

The fact that this priest is considered unusual and even weird tells us all we need to know about the state of Catholicism today.

Democratic state Rep. Carol McEntee responded: “Father Bucci and Bishop Tobin need
to be reminded that the U.S. Constitution requires the separation of church and state.”

This ninny IS bigtime stupid---she's got it ***-backwards:

The Constitution prevents THE STATE from interference in religious matters.

A religious person is protected by the Constitution AND FREE SPEECH to express his/her opinion.

Freedom from Freedom from Religion: The Intent of Our Founding Fathers
American Thinker.com / February 2, 2020 | Christopher Skeet
FR Posted on 2/2/2020, 1:54:47 PM by Kaslin

Have you heard of the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF)? They’re a herd of control freaks who dedicate their free time to harassing and bullying devout Christians out of public view and back into the closets whence they came. The modus operandi of these self-described “free thinkers” is as follows: A small town has a religious monument on public land. It’s been there since the Battle of Brandywine. Of the town’s 3,000 residents, 2,999 have no problem whatsoever with it. But a single perpetually offended milksop will whimper to the FFRF that its presence is somehow obliterating his constitutional rights. The FFRF sends a letter to the town’s city hall threatening expensive legal action if they don’t immediately remove the monument. City hall buckles at the threat and removes it. The FFRF moves on to the next town and repeats. Honorable conduct at its finest.

Some recent religious activity that sours the FFRF curmudgeons include:

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez invited Kanye West to perform at two of his prisons. To the chagrin of FFRF attorneys, West performed gospel songs and prayed with prisoners! Judge Tammy Kemp gave her Bible to a sobbing Amber Guyger, who had just been convicted for murder, to console her and give her spiritual strength. A FFRF attorney tweeted this amounted to “coercion,” and a formal complaint was filed against Kemp.

The only thing the Constitution says on these matters is that the GOVERNMENT IS NOT ALLOWED TO PROMOTE any particular religion, nor is it allowed to ESTABLISH ANY PARTICULAR RELIGION.

Here is where you are wrong on this.

Separate it from the state. These people are publicly declaring that they are for abortion as well as promoting abortion legislatively- actively enabling it- abetting

The Church is not saying “do not do that.”

The Church is saying “because you are promoting a grave sin and declaring it publicly without regard for the teaching of the Church, going against Gods will, you are not in communion with the Church and cannot receive communion”

Any Catholic and that is anyone with a second grade level knowledge of the faith, knows that if you are in mortal sin, as in this case, you cannot receive the Eucharist

It is their choice.

It is different for those who have had abortions and are repentant

The difference is being unrepentant. Politicians fall under this because they are obviously and factually unrepentant in their public pronouncements of being either pro abortion or pro life

Same case as celebrities

I forgot to add that’s why we have freedom OF religion.

I know that most of MOLOCH’S MINIONS in the Senate, Congress, state capitols, state legislatures, etc would prefer we didn’t know that, BUT WE DO.

Everyday I thank the good LORD above that we don’t live in a theocracy, and that I can worship in the way I see fit between me and my GOD.

If this Legislator wants a complete separation of CHURCH and STATE, I would suggest that he or she remove themselves from the church that our lord JESUS created in the name of HIS FATHER.

In the Catholic Church the word of GOD, as delivered by HIS SON is the final word; whether the state of Rhode Island or the United States likes it or not.

Many seem to have forgotten the Constitution was written to prevent the government from doing things, not the citizens.

Bishop Tobin is everything a Catholic Bishop should be. He has denied communion to one of the Kennedy brats, stood up to the commie who occupies the Vatican, and has gone toe-to-toe with Obama on key issues. A good man.

Yes, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights define government responsibilities and limitations, respectively. It doesn't define what private churches are allowed to do.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion". This limits the power of Congress, not the churches.

Without a President Trump this would not have happened.

He is sharing his backbone with anyone who cares to stand up for righteousness.

Yes, this should have happened 50 years ago, but it IS happening now and that’s reason enough to rejoice and move forward.
