If you didn’t listen and if you appreciate Rush the way I do (and millions of others too), just reading this will make the screen blurry ...
And after you read it you will know why Rush is so loved by us.

It was incredible! I think he was stunned because to receive that honor with the entire country watching... it literally takes one’s breath away.
One of the proudest moments of his life. And El Rushbo is both incredibly lucky and loved by all of us.
Congratulations, Rush! That honor from a grateful nation, you deserved!
May Divine Providence bless Rushie. I pray for him every day now.
It was a beautiful moment when Melania placed the medal on Rush. When he wept, I also wept.
I wish Rush the best of care and great peace of mind, considering the circumstances.
But I do not spend time praying that he will beat the cancer.
I know that may sound strange for one of his fans to admit.
I am thankful to have been around when Rush was able to inform and influence the country. I know nothing and no one last forever. I know we all have our Due Date

Carpe Diem! Im glad he took it because as Andrew Marvell wrote, the grave may be inevitable but our love of life can outlast it and even if we can’t outrun our sun, we can make him stand still.
There are occasions in life where we have world enough and time, indeed.
So how did he get to Washington D.C.?
As he wrote, the President brought him to Washington and then to the White House.
Its one of those things you don’t think will ever happen to you - until it does.

Doesn’t take much reading between the lines to figure out he’s telling us his illness is terminal. I imagine the operation he had was his power port for chemo, which may buy some time. I’ll certainly miss him, but in circumstances like this, a quick death is more merciful than a protracted one. Glad he got to experience that joy and honor.

For me, this was the best opening monologue I have ever listened to in my 30 years of being a Rush fan.
But to answer your question, while he never mentioned it, I wouldn't be surprised that Trump sent Air Force 1 down to pick them up......After all, he's the boss.
Its a surgically installed permanent port that they can give you infusions through, keeps from having to prick your veins and stuff, chemo makes it really hard for the body to heal.
I can’t help but think about all the people who I have asked, “Have you listened to Rush?” who have replied, “No, he’s just an entertainer.” They have missed SO much and they will never have the opportunity to listen to him in the context of the events that were surrounding those occasions. THAT is an opportunity lost to them forever. They didn’t know it then and they may not even know it now. But they are the biggest losers!
