The 666 Pope should sell off all of the Vatican’s riches to fund the poor. While he’s at he should tear down the Vatican’s walls to house the poor. Maybe then he’d lose his reputation as a f’n hypocrite.

10 Years After: ♫ "Tax the rich; feed the poor, till there are no rich no more." ♫

Wouldn't it be a better wish if it was "till there are no poor no more?"

No, seeking bottom as usual. Let's aim for the lowest common denominator. /s

What an idiot. You don’t end poverty by taking money from those who earn it and giving it to those who don’t.

You do it by getting out of the way and allowing people to earn money and keep most of it.

Obviously the sick, disabled and elderly have to be helped.

Obviously tax deductions for donations to the church are also part of the structure of sin, since that would be a tax break for the wealthy...

Man, what I would have given for our Pope to instead say; “All are our Father’s children, we shall help our brothers and sisters rise up out of poverty through hard work and dedication. We make it our mission to feed the hungry, to find them homes, to bring them within God’s embrace.”

What a fool Francis is shown to be.

In the last 30 years, absolute poverty in the world has been reduced from 1.9 billion (43%) to 734 million in 2015, or 10% of the world's population.

I have not been able to find figures, but it has probably dropped to less than 500 million in 2019, given the booming US economy, which lifts economic levels all around the world.

It is no coincidence that the steep drop in absolute poverty has happened since the fall of the Soviet Union, and the rise of the USA as the sole world superpower.

The acceptance of capitalism as an economic model in China, as well as the trillion dollars of USA aid to China, had much to do with the reduction in absolute poverty in the word.

Here is a chart from about 2010, showing a projection. We are well ahead of the most optimistic projection.

Ironic since the Catholic Church is probably one of the wealthiest institutions on the face of the planet - and probably one of the stingiest when it comes to funding for the needy.

The rich can end poverty?

This Pope needs to learn that you should never contradict the guy you work for

I guess Bergoglio isn’t familiar with the statistics around the globe which shows a MASSIVE REDUCTION in poverty in countries where “evil capitalism” is the norm, and the paralleling statistics that show a MASSIVE INCREASE in poverty in countries where socialism is.

Catholics don’t actually believe in the Holy Spirit as Born Again, Pentecostal Christians, the third Entity of the Triune God head.

This pope is nothing like the humble man, Mother Theresa exemplified. Being a king is more his thing telling the masses what to do.

I’m sure, then, that he is all for the Catholic church forfeiting its tax exempt status here in the US.

Right?

When do the checks start rolling in to the government?

How do they explain John 3:3-5 about being born again of Spirit? Even the Vulgate and Douay-Rheims include the same statement from Jesus in no uncertain terms.
John 3 (Jesus to Nicodemus):

3: In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. [1] "

4 "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!"

5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
