Safeguard them from ISIS? I though ISIS was wiped out?
As for the Syrian government not having the forces to do it, that’s a cynical claim to make when you attack them for attacking Sunni wahabbist rebels.

You blow up their forces, and then say you got no forces to protect the oil so we gotta stay? That’s straight up mafia.
The truth is that we are doing what the Saudis ordered, and when our Generals enjoy.

POTUS needs to ask the useless United States Senate for a declaration of war on Syria. Put the beltway swamp scum on record. This is ridiculous.

We’re there to safeguard the oil from ISIS reconquest.

That’s CYA. The real reason we are there is to keep a toe hold in Syria for future operations. Trump wants out but is being vetoed by the Deep State.

You just gotta laugh. The occupation government in DC doesn’t even pretend anymore. Trump order the troops out, the Generals just basically flipped him the finger and reclassified everyone as some kind of trainer and marched on.

Yep. Trump’s second term is going to be interesting. Ha ha.

Jeeze, those videos look nasty. We have a patrol, forcing it’s way through a Syrian village sympathetic to the government. Syrian and Russian forces are 100 yards away. All three sides are flying flags. Syrian kids are throwing rocks.

What genius put THIS clusterscrew together? This is why a year ago Trump said to pull out. The Generals found a way to end run him with the help of the neocon congress.

So in a nutshell, you argument is that anywhere on earth there is oil, we should naturally invade and seize it because that keeps prices down? A trite argument because whoever owns it will sell it. The same volume in the market will create roughly the same price. OPEC hasn’t been able to successfully dictate a price since the late 1970s.

At least we should drop the pretense of being on some kind of moral crusade and just say we are out to plunder countries that cannot resist.

I sure hope so. I hope he can deal with the traitors in the DOD and intel community. But he is doing it alone. The GOP wants a war in Syria aimed at holding parts of the country, and if possible killing off Assad for our Sunni Saudi masters.

The US imports crude oil and petroleum products from Canada. It is our #1 importer. The next two Countries (almost tied) are Mexico, at #2 and Russia, at #3.

~~~The Syrian government has shown many times they don’t have the forces or logistics to hold the oil refineries.~~~
That’s funny. How many US forces are there? Do you really believe this ridiculous explanation?
What would be your actions if the government is seizing your property and bank account ‘because you are too stupid and weak’ to secure it and it might benefit the criminals?
