...The financial impact of the Gibson’s Bakery loss is not yet clear. It will be interesting to see if the negative publicity impacts the incoming class, and how much in grant money needs to be spent to maintain quality and quantity. But clearly Oberlin College has suffered a public relations body blow from the case.

The seriousness of the situation is further revealed in a campus announcement that Oberlin College will seek to replace UAW union workers in the dining hall and custodial services with outsourced contractors...

And Oberlin hasn't even lost the appeal yet that it is spending hundreds of thousands on legal fees on.

I hope the young lady from Liberty Hangout goes to Oberlin soon to interview the students.

Start a boarding school concept for both of these services.

Let the kids work off part of their tuition, by providing these services.

You can get by paying very low wages, and the kids get something
knocked off the bill.

It's a win/win.

Unions? LOL Who fell for that?

I would strongly advise President Carmen Twillie Ambar to pack her own lunch. (Or if not, to order it from Gibson's Bakery.)

So Oberlin could cut expenses by trimming well-paid faculty (but that would mean dumping tenure) or by trimming modestly-paid support staff (but that would mean dumping the union) - gosh, I wonder what direction their high-minded liberal ideals will push them in?

I think it would be appropriate justice if the college was forced to close its doors due to the financial repercussions of its actions.

These people have declared war on us. No quarter should be given. Burn it to the ground...financially speaking.

I wouldn't care if the faculty of Oberlin College spontaneously combusts and the college closes its doors permanently. Such should the cost be for political correctness and unfairness towards those that believe in their personal rights.

Maybe out-source the dining services to Gibson’s Bakery?

Now, THAT would be justice.

Yeah. The Oberlin elites are, after all, the intellectual cadre that will lead the oppressed working classes into a new socialist future. It isn’t union busting when they do it.

Oberlin College’s troubles are a sign of things to come for a great many universities. They have all become bloated temples of leftism and America is about to cut them down to size.

Liberals in a liberal college are busting a workers union to keep up the standards of living for the staff.

Get woke, go broke! Oberlin refused to tame it chirrens and very real and malicious damage was done to honorable people and their family business.

I think it would be appropriate justice if the college was forced to close its doors due to the financial repercussions of its actions.

Oberlin's endowment was $943.5 million in 2019 so it is unlikely that the school will close its doors. But I have no doubt that the endowment is structured in ways to prevent idiot administrators from ******* away all the money.

I’m sure there are a lot stipulations on how the endowment can be spent, but it sure would be fun if someone interviewed the students there and asked them if they think it should be spent to help the union workers, wouldn’t it? He He He.

In Texas, large companies world wide including across the US keep one particular law firm on retainer. Why? That law firm keeps at least 4 Supreme Court votes in their pocket.

So, what’s my point? My point is that Oberlin will likely win the appeal and Gipson will lose as it’s all about POLITICS at this point. If anyone believes the LAW means a damn thing, they are a fool. This appeal is being hashed out on golf courses and in bars and backyard parties. Then, some young attorney/justice and his/her staff will write a JUSTIFICATION of their verdict. The rest of the justices will be on the golf course working on the next case.
