The Next Democratic Debate is the Last One Before South Carolina and Super Tuesday
Vox ^ | February 19, 2020 | Li Zhou

Posted on 02/20/2020 1:06:00 PM PST by CheshireTheCat

The third (yes, third) Democratic primary debate of the month will be held in Charleston, South Carolina, on Tuesday, February 25. It is co-hosted by CBS and the Congressional Black Caucus Institute, and will air from 8 pm to 10 pm ET on CBS, BET, and Twitter.

The debate is the last of a deluge scheduled for February, and it’s taking place just days before the South Carolina primary...Candidates’ performances onstage could play a critical role — in New Hampshire, many voters...indicated that the debate right before the primary influenced their ultimate decisions.

This debate will also be the final one to occur ahead of the all-important Super Tuesday contests...

Okay, so it's Vox, but it is a decent overview.

All the candidates in the debate last night have qualified. Tom Steyer has not qualified as of yet, but he could if he gets a single delegate out of Nevada. He got 10% in the latest Nevada poll. I don't know if he has to get 15% statewide to get a delegate or 15% in a congressional district.

What does Tulsi need to qualify?

Has anyone figured out a dollar value for the free exposure that these MSM darlings have received from these incessant “debates”?

Are these “in kind” contributions that need to be reported by the networks to the FEC?

while the Commie-Nazi DNC is trying to monopolize the news with all these miserable ‘debates,’

their candidates are so AWFUL, SAD, EMBARRASSING
and sometimes just plain downright DISGUSTING

that the news is backfiring on the DNC. The more the voters see these stinkeroo candidates, the more they’re turned off on them.

It’ll be a panderthon because there are NO CANDIDATES OF COLOR who will be on the stage! Old white men plus two white women and a white gay toy. I promise they will ask who the candidates will add to the ticket and you can bet every Veep named will be a black person.

Lots of potential to be a barn burner there.

Part of me wants to think that they’ll keep the gloves on so not to alienate supporters of other candidates. The other part of me thinks that many of them feel like they’ve come this far and hell, why not throw off the gloves and roll in the dirt?

I don’t see any of them backing down. Just about everyone up on the stage (except for Biden because he was ignored by the other candidates) wants to get their pound of flesh in return for the barbs and shots taken at them last night.

The same as any other candidate. A delegate in Nevada. 10% in four polls.

I don’t think she’s even close. It would be fun if she made it to the debate, but Steyer has a much better shot.

Don’t worry. These debates help TRUMP more than anyone. All they prove is how unqualified the whole lot of them are.

We need to THANK the networks.

No amount of money could produce the self-inflicted damage that these clowns suffer every time they talk.

The image of these “candidates” throwing up their hands to speak like 2nd graders is just hilarious.

But will Biden know the difference between a mediator, moderator, and a monitor? Biden: "Number two, the mayor makes an interesting point. The mayor says that he has a great record, that he's done these wonderful things. Well, the fact -- the fact of the matter is, he has not managed his city very, very well when he was there. He didn't get a whole lot done. He had stop and frisk, throwing close to 5 million young black men up against a wall. And when we came along in our administration, President Obama, and said we're going to send in a moderator to -- a mediator, stop it, he said that's unnecessary.

BIDEN: Yes, let's get something straight. The reason that stop and frisk changed is because Barack Obama sent moderators to see what was going on. When we sent them there to say this practice has to stop, the mayor thought it was a terrible idea we send them there, a terrible idea. And we are the one, my -- our administration sent -- sent in people to moderate. And at the very time, the mayor argued against that. This idea that he figured out it was a bad idea, he figured out it was a bad idea after we sent in monitors and said it must stop. Even then, he continued the policy.

What, no angry Spanish-speaking Hispanic moderator who bemoans the plight of illegal aliens and only asks Democrats how they're going to pander to Hispanics?

I can, especially if Steyer gets in. He’s going to lecture the field about not going after each other and how they all have to come together to defeat Trump, blah, blah. But they are going to be out for blood against each other. They will agree with him at first and then go right back to attacking each other.

Then one of them will attack him- gently, but deadly. If Bloomberg had a deer in the headlights look about him, Steyer is going to be like a sheep running toward a car that is slowing down for him.

So the Congressional Black Caucus is co-hosting the debate. More bad news for Mike “Stop and Frisk” Bloomberg

Think of the next debate as six or seven open six gallon gasoline containers.

All of the candidates will be instructed by the DNC and their handlers that gasoline is dangerous and they should stay away from matches.

All it takes is one to light a match (attack one of the others) and the whole debate will become a dumpster fire!

First rule of politics applies; when your opponent is destroying themselves, sit down and shut up. There were no clear winners in that debate. That trend will continue.
