I think he’s retired now but for a couple of decades Bill Ayers was THE LEADING and most influential academic in the U.S. when it came to formulating curriculum.
I know. How could we let THAT happen?
Howard Zinn basically perverted the teaching of history. I was a history major when his book came out. Even though I was a young skull full o’ mush I was disgusted by the multiple-orgasms they were having in the faculty lounge over his work.

That’s the no accident part.
The only question I have on vouchers is are they going to be funded proportionately by the property taxes that currently go to the public schools in most states? If not then how are they funded and why are my property taxes not being reduced accordingly with the reduced student population.

It’s a conflict of interest for government schools to be able to brainwash the future citizens who are supposed to hold the government accountable.
Another pernicious teaching technique is “Group Learning.” Teachers put weak students in groups with strong students, who will do most of the work on the assigned task. The group gets a grade, and it allows students who would fail to get a passing grade. Teachers thus escape liability.
Then we wonder why SAT scores continue to go down since the late ‘60,even though the standards have been relaxed several times in recent years.
School reform is a must, radical change is needed. I hope Trump makes this a priority in his 2nd term.

The American Federation of Teachers, in its most recent journal, illustrates how postmodern ideology also dominates K-12 education. The issue paints America as under siege by the white supremacist power structure and urges its 1.6 million members to counter the pervasive “hostility and discrimination of people because of their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation/identity, immigrant … or disability status” by being activists in the classroom. The Department of Education (DoED) is conducting an investigation into foreign governments funding U.S. universities, and they have found that governments such as Russia, China and Qatar have given them a staggering $1.3 billion.
The universities under review include the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Texas A&M, Cornell, the University of Maryland, Georgetown, and Rutgers. Acting general counsel Reed Rubinstein called the initial findings very “disturbing” in a letter to the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, the Education Department.

WE are to blame...all of us.
WE allowed our schools to be stolen from us to the point that our votes mean nothing, our opinions are ignored. And we are thought of as ignorant rubes only good for our value as wallets, succumbing regularly to appeals of “for the children” who come out of the system dumber than a bag of hammers, as we pass school bond after school bond.
We continue to elect people that hate us and our values.
We are the problem.
I have no solutions: I don’t know what to do. My angry vote is cancelled by two or three ignorant ones.
But I fear WE are too far gone, now.
To answer the headline: Because the teachers and administrators are scumbag idiots.
Ideologically cleansing the public schools and crushing the power of the unions should be a priority in every state and locality we control.
The curriculum needs to be pro-American and if the teachers don’t like that they can go work at McDonalds.
This is major, I fear the younger generations are indoctrinated to vote rat. Kids today are getting hit with nonsense like “gender queer” and “climate crisis”. One would hope they’ll grow up and vote Republican once they start having to pay taxes but......
