This week two Democrats in Florida filed a lawsuit aimed at keeping Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., from being listed on the states presidential primary ballot.
Registered Democrats Frank Bach and George Brown argue in their lawsuit that Sanders cannot be allowed on the ballot because he is a registered independent, not a Democrat, pointing out that he has also raised campaign funding as an independent. Sanders does caucus with Democrats in the Senate, however.
Former circuit court judge Karen Givers is representing the two plaintiffs. Speaking with Politico, Givers argued that Florida is a closed primary state, yet here we have someone who is an independent on the Democratic ballot. You cant be an independent and be a member of the party.
Givers said that Bach and Brown are military veterans registered as Democrats.

You can own a lot of homes & stuff, but tell others what to do with their money.
This is how it works:
The lawsuit is frivolous.
Because..... when has a communist ever broken the intent of a signed document?
I agree, the suit is going nowhere but it is yet another item on the popcorn list.

Dang, what will we see next re Sanders, more reality from his foes?
Geez, and here I thought the Republicans were the onzes that subverted the voting process...
It’s making Bernie run around in circles, so it’s good. Crunch. Munch. Coconut oil makes the best popcorn.
Kinda like telling a terrorist he isn’t a pilot when he’s the one in charge of where the plane is flying.
Excellent. This will anger his voters.
Agreed. This suit is going nowhere.
But I am betting the party elders are wishing they never let the Commie enter the primaries. Which they could have done at the very beginning.
I wonder if they let Bernie in to the primaries because they were concerned that he would go 3rd party & siphon off votes. Hoping that he would get creamed in the primaries and his followers would not get pissed and still vote Rat.
In any case, it would be interesting to know why they let Bernie into the primaries. It is a lose lose for the DNC, but that’s what they get for going so far left.
I think you answered your own question—third party threat.
“I think you answered your own questionthird party threat.”
That would be delightful.
It probably won’t happen, but oh I hope it does. I live in NM, but I’d bet I’d be able to hear the “RRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!” from the Bernie freaks all the way from FL. I love it when the Communists turn their dirty scummy schemes and tricks on each other.
New dem song:
Fifty Ways To Steal An Election
If he walks like a RAT, talks like a RAT and smells like a RAT...
Can a registered independent vote in the FL democrat or republican closed primary? I know you cannot in CA.
“Promises are like pie crusts—made to be broken.”
They may lose the lawsuit, but it is not frivolous. The purpose is to drain the Bernie Sanders campaign funds through legal cost. The DNC does not want Bernie to win.
It might have merit. I dont see how a loyalty pledge should matter. The two plaintiffs arent parties to it, and as party members they should have more standing than Sanders.
I rather relish this because the Democrats tripped all over themselves welcoming this communist to caucus with them, then allowing him into their primaries in 2016. The lay down with a dog and they got a lot worse than fleas.
Now who’s disenfranchising voters?
