President Donald Trump may not divert $89 million intended for a military construction project in Washington state to build his border wall, a U.S. judge in Seattle ruled Thursday.
The U.S. Supreme Court and some other courts have said the administration can begin diverting billions of dollars in military spending to the wall. But U.S. District Judge Barbara Rothstein ruled Thursday that a case brought by Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson contains different arguments which are not covered by those decisions.
Rothstein found that diverting the money is unlawful because it would take money that Congress appropriated for military construction and use it for domestic law enforcement.

This latest atrocity is predictably within the purview of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
There have to be consequences for such abuse, or effective oversight by the Judiciary Branch (e.g. Chief Justice Roberts) - otherwise the other Branches of Government will have to take measures to correct this kind of abuse.
Failing to follow Supreme Court precedent should be grounds for impeachment and removal of this judge. And the Trump administration should just ignore her.

Defense department money can’t be used for national defense?
This judge may not be corrupt, or incompetent. Also might not be an out and out traitor.
She made her ruling, now let her enforce it.

Poor thing can’t grasp that our compromised border is a national security issue.
It is the military’s duty to protect these United States as the President directs.
He is the Commander in Chief.

How is a border wall domestic law enforcement? Protecting borders is only partially a task of domestic law enforcement. It is also a task of US military.
Haven’t we already gone through this?
When was the last time congress officially passed a budget?

I don’t see how defending the US border is a law enforcement action. Besides, there’s a big difference from building a structure and detaining criminals.
This judge needs to be impeached if the Pubbies win the House.
In theory, there could be different grounds, and the judge could be correct in a very limited scope. In this case, the judge is creatively mis-stating what the money is being shifted to.
It also is a military building project.
