Interior Secretary David Bernhardt said on Saturday at the American Conservative Unions 2020 CPAC in Oxon Hill, Maryland, that President Donald Trump has made it a priority to give Americans access to federal lands for both pleasure and business.
In keeping with that goal, Bernhardt said that his agency is committed to making sure that 245 million acres in the western United States be specifically designated to be managed for multiple use.
Weve expanded by 1.4 million acres this last year as opportunities for hunting and fishing on public lands and in forests, but more importantly we have ensured the concept of multiple use is embodied, Bernhardt said.
So we are open for business in many places for public lands and at the same time ensuring that we maintain our conservation stewardship, Bernhardt said.

woohoo- just got my strip mining permit!
Sweet! Did you pay the extra $15.00 for an owl harvest permit? Theyre delicious.
Constitutionally, the land of a state belongs to the state. The only provision for a federal land gab is this...
Congress shall have power...to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful BuildingsU.S. Const., Art. 1, Sec 8, Cl, 17.

HOORAY Chief. Thank you, sir.
woohoo- just got my strip mining permit!
Multiple use... so I hope you got your swimming hole permit as well!
My investors are salivating over the theme park in Yellowstone. It’ll be great.
lol- where can i invest?
If you want to see the federal governments inept management of federal lands, just look at the Four FRI project-Forest Restoration initiative, in the southwest.
The best example of how worthless the USFS has become. Not many with forester degrees running the district offices.
Should have never happened. Those forests should have been left up to the counties to manage.
Are they like the BLM with a massive swat team and hundreds of machine guns and millions of rounds of ammo? Because we all know land and forestry management requires body armor and military grade weapons. You never know when a group of trees could go rogue and have to be taken down with machine guns.
I would like to see this ban on shooting forced to be removed by Presidential order.
Awesome. Now put it up for sale to American citizens as well!
The other thing that needs attention is access. The feds have been blocking the dirt roads that hunters use to get into the back country.
These need to be re-opened so the people can use the land again.
My volunteer fire department has spent considerable time with the local forest sevice here in New Mexico—Cibola National Forest. When they are allowed to work on a forest, the results have been impressive.
I have spent several days helping on controlled burns. Our local counties are so far left, I doubt they’d have the slightest clue what to do.
But the best forest management in NM is the Indian Tribe near Riudoso. Absolutely stunning difference from the rest of the forests in the state.
“Not many with forester degrees running the district offices.”
Well who but various levels of government will hire college graduates with .... studies degrees?
Well I guess the Feds better give back all the National Parks then.
Bingo!
National Parks are absolutely unconstitutional. But did Teddy Roosevelt care? Not at all, like his relative later.
National parks should be turned over to the states and become State Parks.
I'm not so against the National Parks, constitutional or not, I am though against the extreme land and water grabs from the states by the federal government under the auspices of liberal presidents.
I will also say I am also angered by liberal legislatures and governors robbing the citizens of the right to use and enjoy land using the argument of "saving nature".
The issue in America, the issue that will mean us recovering our freedom from government or knuckling under tyranny, is whether the Constitution will be enforced as the Supreme Law of the Land against the feds. Reversing unconstitutional federal lands grabs are part of that.
You don’t care until the feds grab YOUR land. If the feds aren’t stopped and reversed now, that is exactly what they’ll do.
