Wells Fargo CEO: Bank’s Past Conduct Was ‘Deeply Disturbing’
NYT ^ | Ben Eisen

Wells Fargo & Co.’s new CEO told Congress on Tuesday that the troubled bank engaged in “deeply disturbing conduct” but is charting a new path to move past its yearslong sales-practices scandal.

TOPICS: Crime/Corruption
KEYWORDS:
So “deeply disturbing” it was criminal. The executive greed for bonus money breaking the law was a sweet deal for 14 yrs. Internal audit/risk/ had to be the “go between” between community bank, sr execs recieving bonuses. And external audit KPMG, which was paid $57M or $1M / mo., are invisiable in this ? There is alot more to this BS. The cards will fall soon.

3-4 decades ago, they were doing weird stuff, and we finally went to another bank.

I have had little do to with them but can’t stand them.

Some years ago I had a truck loan through them. They called to say I missed a payment. Say what?????????

I had the cancelled check that they had cashed three weeks earlier. I had it in my hand when I called him back.

Them: We don’t care. Wire the money today or it will go on your record.

Me; ***** YOU!!!!

I guees he’s leaving the apology for their current conduct to the future ceo, who can then apologize for that ‘past’ conduct.

He has just bought in to clean the place up, and has no connection to the previous misconduct.

His job will take several years, and involve getting rid of thousands of upper level managers and executives. It is difficult to replace that many people at once, so it will be a long process. When he is done, you won’t recognize the place.

Does that mean also replacing most of the American workforce and offshoring the jobs to India or bringing unqualified H1B Indians into to US to steal more American jobs?

Really getting tired of calling customer service to be connected with some filthy Indian in Mumbai that has access to my financial and other information.

My post is clearly about replacing high-level managers, MBAs sitting in expensive offices making $200K or more a year.

Once you have good managers, they will provide the appropriate services to retail customers, rather than cutting costs regardless of quality. You can actually hire highly skilled guys in India if you are willing to pay up, but in that case you might as well hire US workers for the same price....if any are available.

That does not apply, because he was just hired.

This has happened before. Senior Management gets the bonus and the little people get ground up and have to cheat just to keep their jobs. There are a whole bunch of people who need to be in jail and barred from the industry
