At least flour makes sense. It can be stored and used. Over stocking eggs just means you will waste them.
People are so selfish, they don’t care. Just one more reason for my strong dislike of people. I’m glad dogs exist.
Forget about it.
Right now where I live it’s easier to get chickens than eggs.
Waffles?
Because in the up-to-minute inventory systems, they take what has been sold and compare to the what is onhand and move the order up or down in accordance to the numbers.
And every loaf of bread is gone. Suddenly, no one has any “gluten allergies”.
My friend works at a dairy. He said they have been getting slammed with high demand. They expect it to drop very soon - once people have stuffed their refrigerators with 5 gallons of milk, they realize they dont drink it any faster than before.
Screw that. I just want a chicken.
Sell me a chicken!
I’ve seen runs on pasta, rice, and bacon.
Now look for runs on butter, maple syrup and yeast.
“For some reason there has been a run on eggs and flour.”
Basics.
You make meals with them.
I’ve got six months of supplies.
Oh, so I know where to go when I run out.
No, I also have six months of ammo.
We haven’t found our regular bread for 2-3 weeks. Ended up ordering some TP online, but not so much that we have to make arrangements to store it.
I don’t understand why toilet paper is being hoarded. Chicomvirus isn’t a gastrointestinal disease like Asiatic cholera. It’s a respiratory ailment.
By next week, many supplies will be back on the shelves.
It is/was the panic rush that cleared the shelves.
Suppliers and shippers are working overtime.
Five gallon gas cans are gone, too.
If you know how to cook using basics there's still plenty raw ingredients available.
I'm so glad I know how to cook from scratch. Not only can I do it, my GF says I'm quite good at it. She prefers I do the cooking rather than she. :-)
I know some hens personally.
I found it interesting that there were signs in my neighborhood “farmer’s market” grocery stating that “ALL SALES ARE FINAL”.
No toilet paper or eggs, and the bread aisle was pretty well decimated, but they had plenty of produce, red meat, and wine. Got the veggies I needed, even scored some yummy cranberry-orange muffins.
Anything written by CNBC or Marketwatch.... in a market like this is garbage information, financial porn. Do the opposite of anything they suggest.
