This would be a great time to read (or re-read) Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand's masterpiece. Except Henry Rearden is the President, and Pelosi represents the corrupt Deep State slimy politicians.
Just finished rereading Atlas Shrugged, and the book is still amazing. Put Biden in as President, and Democrats in control of Congress, and it's a bull's eye. (p) Lucky for us Hank Reardon is our President.
Feel free to add your favorite "topical" books or movies.
Pivot tables.
Atlas is more likely to piddle, considering how Republicans keep wanting to get along with Democrats and keep loosing majorities as a result.
I think I still have Atlas around here somewhere, and haven’t read it. I really should be reading more and get away from that damn boob tube.
“Alas, Babylon”, “Day of the Triffids”, or if you’re feeling too good about life, anything by Herman Hesse....
Are you a Spreadsheet Master?
I could never figure out what to do with pivot tables.
Used them frequently in my work as a quality engineer. Valuable tools.
I’m a lot less stressed nowadays.
Evenings, I sit through a Udemy.com class. They are economical and I learn stuff. Eventually I will get back on the certification horse.
In between lectures I pause and enjoy some classic Hawaii 5-0.
I’ve thrown a little effort at the 81 759 project.
Tried tha with the wife, after the 2008 fiasco
Didn’t work
But I do have outdated books/Dummies at fire sale prices P)
As close to this as possible.
AFA reading, here’s a thought, from way out in left field.
How about reading The Bible?
[How about reading The Bible?]
Was hoping I’d see that. :)
I reread Atlas Shrugged about 2 years ago and I kept reading passages to my husband and teiiing him it was no different from reading the current headlines.
My wife is a huge book nut and avid reader.
I’m not any more. I lost interest.
My wife despises Ayn Rand though.
Youtube has a movie of Atlas Shrugged part 1,2,3 - pretty good, modern, but the did not keep the same cast thru all 3 parts. But you get the idea in 6 hours.
teiiing=telling
I have loaded a home easy chair. Each day it works I read (1) a chapter in Logic as a Liberal Art, a text book, (2) a book sub chapter in Spensers The Fairie Queen in Middle English with a Middle English dictionary and commentary nearby, (3) 50 lines or more in Virgils The Aeneid in a new English poetic translation. Then I tackle a chapter in The Crusades by Dan Jones (The Plantagenets) and/or Ian Tolls Pacific Crucible.
In the afternoon I listen on audible to a pulp 18th century Naval novel or science fiction space opera. Then one to three string quartets as I work on a charcoal picture of a lighthouse I once photographed.
I’ve been painting.
