You need to differentiate between NYC and NY STATE.
There is no need to lock down the state over NYC/downstate area.
The Adirondacks takes up 1/4 of the land area of the state and it is very sparsely populated, especially in the winter.
One advantage of NYC is that the ocean borders part of it.
They can only flee to the north, west, and south, if Jersey and Connecticut let them in.
Screw Florida!
My money and ass right now would be in the Bahamas- at some undisclosed location

When the governor of New Jersey issued his stupid travel ban last week, one of the things he said was that people should NOT travel to their summer homes on the Jersey Shore. Why the hell not? If the schools and work places are closed, wouldn’t you WANT people to move from high-density places to low-density places?

They are usually going back at this time. Getting warm here.
The northbound or southbound hordes on I-95 usually don’t bother with South Carolina since we’re nothing but a bunch of racist rednecks living in a disgusting Southern backwater where black folks fear the setting sun./s
And Hispanic people stopping at South of the Border for gas & lunch are still amazed that none of the wait staff speaks Spanish.
