The United States was ranked the best-prepared country in the world to handle a pandemic in late 2019 by the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) and the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security (JHU) -- an assessment seemingly at odds with claims by Democrats that the Trump administration left the country vulnerable to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
The Global Health Security Index was was "developed with guidance from an international panel of experts from 13 countries, with research by the Economist Intelligence Unit," The Washington Post reported last year. "More than 100 researchers spent a year collecting and validating publicly available data.”

Sure, we have a good capability to gear up and respond in a reasonably time frame, but we weren’t all that prepared IMHO. That’s why that Chinese citizen who worked for Biogen concealed the fact she had tested positive for the virus in MA took a plane back to China for treatment. She felt she had a better shot at treatment there than here.

I think the best thing that Trump did was to stop travel from China. Because of that, I think, the number of cases in the USA will remain small.
Italy uses Chinese workers heavily. They traveled back and forth to their home in China.
The numbers in the worldometer got me thinking about this. There are just a few countries that are experiencing a “pandemic.”

Let’s see, the allowance of people coming into the country illegally and being trained to hate the GOP who is constantly being badmouthed and having criminals sneak in right next to them, could promote a lack of confidence in government. But they should have got a strong score for intending to do it.

All the alphabet health agencies need to be gutted and rebuilt into something less self-serving and more useful to US.
