NEW ORLEANS — The Louisiana death toll from the coronavirus pandemic rose Sunday but the rate of infection appeared to have slowed dramatically, according to figures released by the Louisiana Department of Health.

The state had a total of 3,540 confirmed cases as of noon CDT Sunday, compared to 3,315 on March 28.

That increase of 225 cases, or less than 7%, marks a dramatic flattening of the curve Louisiana had experienced last week, when the percentage rise was as high as 28% on some days.

Of course you want lots of people to die. It would validate the worldview of your ilk.

The deniers bird dog people. They think their 401ks will go back up if we go away. Or the are old and afraid of dying.

Don’t sweat it.

Lot of DU people and Chinese shills here as well to foment division.

and if you test, the numbers go up, too...especially if you’re only testing sick folks.

I follow this site to see the trends.
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/03/21/upshot/coronavirus-deaths-by-country.html
It’s strange how few media mention some of the trends on this. Italy is flattening, Spain and France seem to be. Netherlands too. And on the state graph, Michigan is showing a good trend, even California. And Georgia and Ohio. But no mention of these.

Now I'm rooting for manufacture of masks and goggles to ramp so that everyone can wear a mask

Especially important because of the controversial “airborne” properties of transmission.

You know, I used to like you and defended you during the pizzagate thing - I thought you had a right to post about it. Those days are long gone.

Yes, people are rightly worried about their 401Ks and FR skews old in case you haven’t noticed. I notice a real tendency among the hysterics to hate on old or perceived old freepers. It’s ugly and it should stop.

A classic biased sample issue. Anybody with more than one statistics course should know this and use it in interpreting the deluge of numbers we have seen and will be seeing in the weeks ahead.

It has been so much hype it has been heartbreaking for small businesses that will NEVER recover from this!! Wall to wall screaming the world was coming to an end, what saddens me more than anything is the media was able to do this DESTROY an economy where so many Americans were thriving for the first time in decades!! The MSM was able to bring this entire country to its knees and everybody just jumped on the train of doom and gloom when I saw so many from this site falling for this BS I realized just how far our country has fallen such a shame!!! I guess if there is ANYONE on this planet that can bring us back from this utter destruction it will be Trump!! God help us all if this man loses the election!!

It still hasn’t quite taken hold in Israel, either. But it’s inevitable.

Yes, even droplet transmission would be greatly reduced if everyone sick and healthy alike wore masks.

It wouldn't just allow communities to ease the lockdown, that double protection would give confidence to people to start venturing out.

Actual disappointment here when social distancing works to flatten the curve, reduce the need for ventilators, and prevent hospital ICUs from collapsing under the burden.

Thanks. My small city is being devastated by this mess. 7 dead in the state and all the small businesses shuttered. Many for good.

A week ago in Louisiana the case load was 837. Today it is 3,540. I have a heard time believing that the low number of new cases for today is a “trend”.

Let’s have another look a week from today. I hope it turns out to be a real trend but one day is not enough to show it.

“LOL, One day is not a trend.”

EXACTLY - 3 times it appeared that deaths were starting to decline...then SPIKE! New Orleans isn’t/didn’t do a anything close to the steps Italy took - they don’t have a prayer.

When I am watching baseball with a beer in my hand while enjoying the game with others,I know this has passed. Yes,some of this is scary and needs to be dealt with seriously but most is leftist BS and Trump hate.
