Meh. In most states the number of deaths is so low that the stat itself is anecdotal.

Experts say it is virtually impossible to get the virus outdoors without physical contact or being sprayed by a cough.
The problem is not the beaches and he doesn’t need to close the beaches per se. Its that people on the beaches need to practice social distancing. There are lots of beaches on Florida where you could walk for miles and not see another human.
Large gatherings and failure to practice social distancing are the problem.
And, most suck people will not be going to the beach.

every time I go to the beach I meet suck people.
Ping
Is there any actual evidence that ‘going to the beach’ in Florida spreads the virus?
Seems to me that fresh air, sunlight, and salt water are not the problem at all.
Close the bars, hotels, and nightclubs and leave the beaches open.
Hopefully the second wave will finally overwhelm the hospitals.
(Just trying to support the disappointed Corona Cheerleaders)
you just need to suck it up!
“The first wave in 1918 started in about Dec-Feb. It was bad and a lot of people died. Then it went away. But it came back in the fall (Oct or Nov). And the second wave was significantly deadlier. Killed millions.”
Really makes no sense to compare today’s medicine with that of 102 yrs ago...none at all.
I wasnt trying to compare medical technology.
Im just hoping this thing doesnt come back in 6 months and prove even worse.
That is something, I live in SW Washington, and travel North quite a bit. Traffic has gotten so bad the last 20 years. Great time to commute.
Old retirees in Florida like me are staying home. We are lucky we don’t need to go to work for a paycheck. It is much easier to avoid other people when you are retired and the pension checks come via direct deposits to banks. Only trips outside of home I am making now is once a week shopping at grocery store. The gas tank will last 6 months at this rate of driving.
We have medications to handle it by stopping its ability to replicate and spread in the body. This allows the bodies natural defenses to beat it.
There will be a vaccine in far less time than it normally takes.
This not 1918.
Other nations routine bring medications to market in a fraction of the time we do because of the massive amount of red tape within the US bureaucracy.
No one can cut thru this bureaucratic bullsh*t better than our President.
Stay safe!!!
Your comment made me think about the original SARS outbreak of 2002-3 that also started in China. It was deadly at the time and there weren’t any medicines to fight it except maybe Tamiflu. I didn’t think it ever came back as a second wave. I checked in wiki and they say this virus hasn’t been found since 2004. I read somewhere that it could have mutated to a harmless state. Maybe this SARS-2 coronavirus could do the same...
Thanks for the ping. This thing really was more of an East King County problem than an issue in Seatlle. The reason that we peaked earlier than the rest of the country is that it was going around the East side especially, before we were even aware there was any thing special about it.
These people hyping the “2nd wave” are acting like tools for the DNC. Since this is becoming more likely to burn itself out long before November they are grasping at anything that might keep their great hope of reversing the election alive.
This is very similar to the flu, and most flus since 1918 have not had a 2nd wave. There is no reason to be spreading fear and despair right now as good news is finally starting to get past the media hype.
You too pardner! Be sure to never to touch your face before washing hands, after any trip outside of home.
Mark Levin had a doctor on his show talking about viruses. It was fascinating. The ones with a very high death rate actually self-terminate because killing your host pretty much ends your product line as a virus. They mutate to milder forms as a survival tactic.
This is fascinating and makes perfect sense. Thanks for that info.
Thanks!
